Have they worked out the fitment issues for the Marks? I read early on you still needed to do a lot of tweaking around the gas tank and such.

Well I emailed them and got a response a couple days ago about my system. They said they have had some complaints about their Tbird/Cougar exhaust with the fitment. He said they have started using slightly smaller cats for the clearance issue and moved the bung for no interference. So we'll see how it goes. If not I may see if I can fit my wideband in the old one and add new one for the stock O2 sensor. But yeah we'll see when I get home in Sept and install this stuff.

Ok. Thanks Darren. I'm glad Robert had a chance to look at how yours is done. Issues are only problems that are yet to have a solution. I'm sure we can work out whatever the problem is one way or another.

Great pictures of your install. Thanks for sharing.

LOL Yea, maybe he forgot.

I knew that whoever does the exhaust install was going to have to rework some things to flow with the headers. Robert said he knew a guy in the Carthage area that said he would be willing to install my exhaust system. If Robert's comfortable with this guy working on my car, then I am.

I'm sure they do ship to Cali. There's a couple of links to their website and their EBay posting in this thread.

Forget trying to call them; they never answer their phone. You might try leaving a message. The guy that works their sales prefers to correspond by email.

Email is the best bet. Just slow response. I think it took them a week or so... but **** I can't imagine how busy these guys are. They probably make exhaust kits for all kinds of retailers or something. My kit is sitting safely at home waiting to get installed when I get home.

As for cali. I'd email and ask. This kit obviously won't be legal in Cali that's for sure.

I just placed my order , the web site states 10-15hp gains .
I would be happy with 10hp !

Funktastic, they will ship to Cal since the payment went through and I got an email telling me to expect shipment in one to two days !
I will take the exhaust off when time to smog the car in Oct 2010.

Thanks

No new pictures from anybody that has bought this kit recently , I will make sure to take pictures of the problem areas for all of you to see ?

I'm also looking for mufflers for my setup but I'm not looking for sound or tone I care more about flow and HP gains .

Thanks

Looking forward to your pics and report. I have been on the fence about this kit due to the fitment issues.

Thanks in advance.

There aren't fitment issues persay... The O2 bungs are still in the incorrect spot. I just got mine put on the other day. The cats are now spun cats and have no clearance issues. The drivers side O2 bung would be okay but the wire wasn't long enough to put the O2 sensor in so they moved the O2 bung to the top (it's alright I now have permanently installed my wideband O2 sensor) and the passenger side was too close for comfort next to the transmission case so we moved that one to the top as well. Other than that it fit just fine. We slightly modified the back hafl of my dual exhaust and mated it to the Mandrel Systems Xpipe with no issues.

The only thing I can think of here... is that they bought the ART exhaust jig but it doesn't say where to put the O2 Bungs. And none of them most likely have a MN12 so they aren't putting them in the correct place.

FWIW, I bought the rear pipes in stainless steel for my '98 LSC, and can't recommend them. I had to make so many changes, particularily around the diff, that it would have been both easier and cheaper to use bends and straight pipe. Also, the "mandrel" bends have wrinkles in them that I don't like.

The second gen mark gas tank and heat sheild is different from the first gen and 92+ mn12 tank. That really looks to be the big reason for your fitment issues.

I've got both cars, and true they're a bit different, but the big issues were around the diff. Maybe I just like things tucked up a bit more than they designed it to be.

My Installation issues ..

I had issues with my drive shaft when I installed it and now its back and rubbing right under the center console .
Then the exhaust pieces where the crossbar is at is way to low not sure if moving the x section around front side back would fix .The last issue is that the manifold flanges were too big for the stock manifold and the guy used one reducer that came with the kit but both of us thought that the other side was sealed but I can now hear an exhaust leak upfront .

I need to take take it back to get the exhaust leak fixed and I need to get under there get under there to see about that section after the x section that is way too low that I cant event installed that cross section bar .

My question is has anyone in NJ put these systems in and pass inspection taking the 3rd cat out? I'd LOVE to have this but the car needs to be inspected and I have a feeling my cats might be shot.
