In the middle of installing dss level 5 axles

Okay guys I've got this and test fitting with the car on the ground the inner tripod about a 1/4 of it hangs out the inner [yolk] yuck, from reading EECDOC ran his the way I have it set up, but I'm not sure I'm comfortable with it a half inch longer shaft would be nice any thoughts guys?

DSS with stock Tripod

DSS Tripod slid out over clip

Stock with inner clip - DSS only has place for outer clip

DSS 33 Spline Outer

This is it installed; you can see how much hangs out this with wheel hanging

Another shot the upper goes in with wheel on ground

Any pics. I think most of us have never seen the inside of a joint. I'm sure the axles I have are setup the same as Mike did them also and no problems here to 1.52 60'

I'll send pics when I get back.

My thing is I just dunno how far in the tripod needs to be, also I have no way of keeping the tripod locked out as there isn't a place for an inner ring on the Level 5 axles like the OEM stock ones.

Blown38 are u running the Level 5 axles?

I think mine are cobra inners and axles with the 33 spline outers. I really don't know, Mike would have to chime in.

Or maybe just the inners are cobra.

Chris has the second set of level 5 axles I built for the MN12 IRS rear. They were originally built for the Black Kenne Bell bird. This was back in the 2005-2006 era.

When I pull mine in and out of the car I can feel it moving in and out quite a bit and always afraid it will come apart, but it never has.

Well dang. That sucks. I suppose, worse some to worse, you could have a custom axle made.

As light as your car is, I would think you can get away with running wooden axles to get down the track!

I have aluminum front diff bushings. Should be pretty easy for a machinist to mill out.
