Thats exactly what I did to mine. I masked off just the whites, leaving the little red lines in between to be tinted. Just sprayed the lights a little while ago, so I am waiting for it to dry to see the results. I think it would look pretty badass.

And as for those that don't know, instead of ordering the stuff online, you can usually find it at advance auto or oreilly's for about 13 bucks a can.

I just got mine back on, and they look sweet. Looks like your's is about as dark as mine too. How do bright do your brake lights and the lights behind the bird glow? I fear mine may be a little to dark.....

I was worried about that to when i first did mine. But actually it isn't to bad. during the day you can still see the brake lights and LED's behind the bird. the corner brake lights are a little brighter because its an actual bulb but thats a good thing. and as far as at night they shine thru just fine.

I didnt' tint my led's on my spoiler so that during the day i still have some uncovered light to help get peoples attention if i brake.....I prob could tint it with no worries but i don't wanna take the chance.

I did it to my whole rear assembly and my front corners but i didn't tape of the bird so it would have a black chrome look to it. Here is a couple pic...she's in primer so no jokes. I know how some people hate that matte black look.

Here is my Cougar with the Nite Shade on the taillights. I only put on a few coats. I'm not a fan of the blacked out taillights just a hint of smoke.

Here it is with the taillights illuminated.

I just don't like the full blacked out due to legal issues. If I get rear ended with full blackouts, there is a better chance the cop will not cite the other person at fault.

So i sprayed my lights yesterday and I think they came out great!

I smoked the heads with two light coats and blacked out the tails with four heavy coats..

I'm thinking about clear coating them just to help protect from the weather. The headlights look great at night and put out a great amount of light over the actual covers. The tails look sick too and are easily seen at night.. daytime's a little rough but the actual brake light can be seen when slowing.
I'm selling the headlight covers for what I put into them. They were just too dark for me.

I thought this was a cool effect on the bird.. Where we taped them off the spray couldnt get into the grooves around them. The effect @ night looks like neon trim! haha

Just did my '93 LX and I'm a bit concerned. I only did 2 coats and I can barely see the parking lights when lit. Turn signal is plenty bright.
Anybody running LED bulbs?

I used the Niteshades spray. Mine looks like yours. I'll have some pics later.
Got some new bulbs, see if that helps. If not I'll try some LEDs.
And I'm going to the salvage yard and pick up some spare tail light lenses just in case the city man has something to say and one of my 3rd brake light plugs is burnt up so I need to get one of those too.

I love the look. Just didn't expect 2 coats to be that dark. My idea of a coat may have been too heavy too. Good thing I didn't go with 3.

Thanks for the offer but I just picked up 2sets of tail lights at the Pull a Part in Augusta. One set to try tinting again and another set for a spare.
Think I'll try some LEDs too. New bulbs weren't any brighter.

Got a picture but the sun is casting a dark shadow but you get the idea how they look. I'll take another shot later.

Yeah... well I did three heavy coats on mine.. I think a little bit up this thread I said I did four but it was three heavy ones... I've been pulled over twice, at night, in the last 2 weeks saying they cant see the tails so I'm going to sand them, repaint with three light coats, tape the reverse lights for a better contrast and then clear them.. Mine came out great... just too dark..

Ya'll think this addon will keep the man off my rear?

Easy hook up. I just used the plugs off the original LEDs so they only come on with the parking lights.
