Headlight Switch Mystery

Well, I'm trying to track down a mystery.

My 93 has the autolamps, with the single dial dimmer switch. But it's not working. I thought maybe it's the photocell so I ordered a "new" used one. Not installed it yet

However the switch that's in the car is giving me pause. Here's why;
1: When I lock the doors with the fob, and do it a few times the horn will beep, the brake lights will flash, but not the headlights.
2: When I turn the interior knob all they way to turn on the interior lights, then turn it back to turn them off, the door locks will click (like when you push the lock button, when they're already locked...that "click" sound)

A while back I purchased a used headlight switch with the knob from a salvage yard. I purchased it for the knob as my OEM was broken. Stamped on the switch I bought is the part number E9SB-11654-BA, from my research of these threads that's an autolamp part number. FUNNY THING... I pulled it from a car without autolamps as its dash didn't have the dimmer switch.... wonder if they had a problem, bought a new one and it was the autolamp one.

LONG STORY SHORT.... I wonder if my OEM switch is a non-autolamp one and the weird stuff in 1 & 2 is a result of that...

Sorry I can't be much help. But in my 96 the taillights flash with the horn beep when I lock the car, headlights do not do anything. So I guess that is normal?

Could be...but that's sure odd! And I can't figure out why my locks click when I turn the interior lights on/off with the knob..

Thanks for the response though!

Regret can't help much. What part # is on the original? A search on same may narrow things down. Not much info on E9SB-11654-BA other than no longer available.
Someone with the 93 EVTS manual may be able to help. I only have the 89.
Hope it gets sorted!

More good news!

Swapping in the switch did it?

Yup!
I'm keeping the bad one to see if it was the photocell. The car is last gen tech, almost to the point you can repair stuff like that...
