97 door light wiring

I have a 97 and no light in the door so I'm pulling the light and harness out of a donor car. For the people who have done this where are you hooking the power wire? Is there somewhere in the door that will work or will it be best to run it inside and hook it to the floor lights? Thanks.

Are you talking about the red marker light that is on the door? Mine doesn't have that either, just the red plastic, no light. I think the best solution is the hook it to the floor lights because they turn on when the door is opened.

Yes that's what I'm talking about. I figured the floor light would be my best bet but I thought I would see if anyone had any better options.
