another question i have. for those who have 91-93 t-birds. when y'all did this switch, was there any customizing u had to do? i was lookin at the tech articles on this last night and i saw that they had to trim down something, but they this on a 97 t-bird. what i wanna know is would it just go right in place or would i have to do some trimming like they did for the 97, cause i have a 92 t-bird.

no trimming neccessary, not even in the 97's. it drops right in. the trimming had to be done on the 97's to install the taurus sho 150 mph speedometer. fyi, 97's came with taurus style gauges, thats why people where doing it. i prefer the older style tbird gauges so i went that route instead.

you need one from a 94-95 sc. the taurus sho one wont fit in your 92. the taurus sho 150 mph speedo only works in the 97's.

So I just bought a 120 mph speedo and took it all apart to see how everything works. Would it be possible to replace a resister or what not and make a 120 mph speedo to a 240 mph speedo?

Just to be clear on this will the 145 speedo plug into 1991 T-bird with no trouble at all and read correctly? Because I dont want to spend the money and find out it wont work. I need a new speedo either way b/c my odometer broke.

based from what everyone else is sayin , it should. i was told i need one from a 94-95 t-bird sc. they said it will work with my 92 bird so i see no reason y it wont work for ur 91. then again i could i be wrong.

it will work as long as you got the 6 gauge cluster (oil press., gas, temp, volts, tach and speedo). only clusters that it wont work on are the 97 cluster, the early model digital cluster and the early model three gauge cluster (speedo, gas, temp).

ok now all i gotta do is locate one with about 90K on it thats not gonna cost me 150 bucks thats how much the local junk yard wants. if i cant i'll just stick with the 120 speedo... even if i do decide to drop a new 5.0 in my car i'm not gonna spend much time at 120 anyway. i just thought it would look cool.

he's wrong, drops right in. the calibrations for speed are all inside the speedometer unit itself. drops right in, it doesnt get any easier.

For any of you that has a broken cluster (odometer/tripometer stopped working), I can fix it for you. I charge $50 a cluster, and I guarantee that it will not break. If it breaks, I will fix it for free!
