I have some nice (sort of) unique camera angles of my interior as I have a moon roof but it's just a stock '97 Light Prairie Tan interior...

Here are a few from my XR7:

This one was taken back when I did the headliner, and it shows the recessed stripes pretty well (they match the stripes in the paint).

Rod, everytime I see that interior, I notice somthing else. You've upgraded to the 97 interior (I knew that) but you still have the original style XR7 Steering wheel. I've always liked that style wheel. How did you use it. Does the car still have the original column? or does it have a 97 column? If you have a new column and the old wheel, do the Cruise Control buttons still work? LOL I know, lots of questions.... And the car looks great (as always).

Good eye. The steering wheel is one of the few original pieces on the car. It's mounted on a 97 steering column. I made a small bracket to locate the 89-93 cruise/horn contacts in the correct location on the 97 column. So yes, everything on the steering wheel does work. The only "problem" is that there is a bit of a gap between the steering wheel and the column trim. The 89-93's used a trim ring to cover the gap, and the 94-97 wheels have a slightly farther reach to cover the gap without a trim ring. Since a 89-93 trim ring won't fit, I'll need to make something, but it's kind of at the bottom of my list at the moment.

hhhmmmmmm well, being the lazy and already overworked person I am, I guess I'll have to stick with the Current wheel. (Though I saw a Cobra wheel on Ebay for 20 bucks.....)

Thanks for the info, its good to know that it can be done when/if I decide to get it done.

SEM spray dye is the stuff to get. Aaron k sprayed a tan wheel cowl to go wth my FR500 wheel and the dye turns out great.

Doh, I wish my interior was complete. Oh well, I'll post pics when I'm done.

Obucina, I've seen so many trim kits start to peel down here. I think they need to switch to a heat-activated adhesive or something...

Looks good. I'd like to see some daytime pics. I have a blue interior and I think silver would look great with the blue. Are you using a rattle can and if so, what brand?

I think I've found my next project. I have silver-faced gauges too, so I think the color will work out nicely. If only someone could figure out a way to make a silver SATC cover. I'm thinking about taking the face off of the SATC and scanning it.

Hmmm I wonder how close that is to Ford's "Argent Silver" wheel paint. My 97 sport rims need refinishing and I bought the duplicolor silver wheel paint (WP101, the light silver not charcoal) and sprayed my spare rim but... Putting it down over the prepped ford silver and a couple of coats later and it looks like medium charcoal to me, much darker then Fords silver. That's a non-starter for me my cars pacific green and it needs the bright silver wheels imo to look right.

I bought two cans. I noticed the first had a white cap thats sprayed and looks very light just like the ford silver but the second can has a gray plastic cap and the same paint over it looks darker, like it turned out on my wheel. grumble grumble...
