If I can't fly (either for weather or financial reasons) I'll most likely bring the bird and stay the night before then drive back the afternoon after the eclipse. If I fly... it will probably be a similar arrangement so as not to be too hard on anyone who comes with me, even though I wouldn't be bothered by flying down early, then heading back home after the event.
One of my sisters and her family live over in Franklin, I might reach out to her to see whether she's willing to host us.
