What year model would this be on? Last time out to the yard, someone had pulled the k-member out of a 97/98 Mark so it wouldn't be much to grab the pan and tube if it's what you need. I don't know much of anything about the Lincoln drivetrain.

The larger tube actually didn't appear until the '96 MY.

We're talking about two different tubes here. The larger Mark VIII tube for the "HO" pump is p/n F6LE-6622-AA. Again, it first appeared in '96 MY Mark VIII's.

Yeah, you're probably right..You're not the first person who I've heard say that either..

The strange thing is, F6LE-6622-AA is an engineering number..Not a Ford Part Number..

Still, the F6 suggests Ford started using that oil pick up tube in 96..

Looks like every part number I'm familiar with

F=199x
6=xxx6
L=Lincoln Mark
E=Engine
6622=Pickup tube
AA=Revisions

The number you see cast into or stamped on a part is not a Ford part number. Strange, huh?
This is known as a casting number or engineering number, not a Ford part number.
It may be close to the actual part number but is never the same as a Ford part number.
These numbers were used in the manufacturing of the part, and that is a completely different story,
although the engineering numbers follow the same type of numbering system and format.
Codes, basic part numbers, and suffix are different for casting numbers.

Thanks for the clarification, guys. I wasn't exactly sure what year they started with the big one. Are the pans the same for the bigger tube?

Jco, sounds like that should be the correct pickup. I only need the pick up as long as the pans are the same.

The pan was revised with a better rail in the Gen II's, but either will work with either tube. To be clear, any of the 4.6L MN12 or FN10 pans will work.

I haven't been out there again since I posted here. I'm going right by there in the morning so I will stop and see if I can get this for you. You only want the tube, correct?
