I have a vector graphic of the T-bird logo; I'll whip up a rendering of something similar to what SCCOA did and get it up for comments and suggestions this afternoon.

I'd also be up for several of each. The original Joel ones were so cheaply made that it was all faded by the time I got rid of the 94.

I am going to do my best to get the computer going next week and run the cutter. The most time consuming part is having the time to peel the scrap off and put the backing on. If I can get a volunteer to do that part I will cut the stickers. Realistically the material usage on these size of stickers is little to nothing in cost. A roll 24 inches wide by 100 feet is less than $50 and we won't even use more than 5 feet of it. I have some really good clear transfer tape that I prefer because you can see through it and I can send whoever is willing to do it a tool to push the air out (hard plastic squeegee).
For that matter I just bought another xp machine for the kids to play their fischer price game on and it is capable of running the machine. If I cannot get the video to work on the proper pc I will install the software on that one and do it. I need to cut stickers for me as well.
If anyone makes up a drawing I need it in a vector image because that is what the machine reads, arcs and lines....The lettering I can do myself just tell me what fonts you use. It is easier to type them in right in the software than trransfer them over because you get bad cuts especially on small letters and end up using a knife to trim them.
I have gray and white material among others however I think the right thing to use would be the color of his car.
I can make t-shirts as well, I did the shirts for the shootout a couple years ago. I have to replace or repair the printer for multi color stuff but if it is single color stuff that can be cut out like a sticker and transfered over I can do that without having to buy anything but materials.

I think it is great that so many people think enough of Johnny to want to do things like this. However, I do feel that nothing of this nature should actually be produced without first talking with Dawn. I think it would be highly inappropriate to do so without her approval. Now isn't exactly the time to be doing that either, she has bigger fish to fry at the moment. I am here in town for the funeral, but won't be bringing any of this up. I wouldn't have a problem talking with her about it later though.

For "voting" purposes here's my rendering of a SCCOA-style graphic. Kind of leaves out the Cougars in the club though. The white would be the vinyl; black would be transparent.

All provided that Dawn doesn't mind us doing this. This is strictly hypothetical at this point until we hear back from KD about what she says.

lol, there have been so many changes in graphics/options, I wonder if it would be best to reset the poll, put everything in the first post and have people re-vote!

Agreed.

Per the above post by Kris. This thread will be closed pending approval from his family. As soon as kdanner discusses this with Dawn and we have her permission we'll proceed with this.

Thanks guys. I don't foresee this being a problem but the right thing to do is run it by her first and get her blessing before proceeding.

Kris, just send Oscar, Matt or myself a PM when you've had a chance to discuss this with her. Thanks.

Alright, Johnny's wife is OK with proceeding now. Send your proposed artwork to kdanner at his username here on gmail. Kris just needs to have the artwork and who is behind it, and Dawn will make here decision based on those 2 things.

Once Kris hears back from her on it he will let everyone know.

Based on the polls, I can submit both the SCCoA and the first design (without www.com) to him.

Have these designs been submitted to Mrs. Langton? Just curious if progress is being made toward approval and production. Some morn faster then others judging by the now white again background. However I'd really like to have a set of any design on my quarter windows of my bird, if Mrs. Langton feels that it is appropriate of course.

I'm just trying to pay tribute to someone who I always considered a friend and inspiration. It still pains me knowing I can't call him, he'll never return another P.M., and I wont see any more posts from him or ever get the chance to meet him in person.

Okay, KD got back to me and said that Dawn is okay with both of the designs.

Now it becomes a matter of determining which design to produce (if not both), and how.

I like the one you made, but could you make a design that has just a cougar for the cougar guys? And the mark guy will just have to pick one just a suggestion.

Possibly. I'd need to render a new design and then pass it along to KDanner so he can run it by Dawn. Do I think it will be a problem? No, but I do think we should respect both JL and her wishes in the matter by doing so.

I'm not opposed to making specific designs, but I don't think I'll be doing any more than this. It's a question of how many designs is enough? Can we even produce multiple designs cost effectively? We may be restricted to one design only if things get expensive. DirtyDog said he has a vinyl cutter and the means to produce these in-shop, but I'll need to convert the T-bird logo and any Cougar logo I find into vector format for his software first. That alone will take several hours.

Regardless, I'll start whipping up a Cougar specific design here shortly; I'm thinking something with the TCCOA text on one side, the Cougar logo in the center, then JL's text on the other side.

EDIT: Here's a quick render of a design featuring the Cougar logo. In this case, black would be where the vinyl is and white is transparent. I've sent it to KD to relay to Dawn, so until I hear back from him again this one isn't being made.
