I don't know what's going on with them... I've been working a lot lately but if I find the time I might do some more hunting for a place that can do these up inexpensively; I have this feeling we'll be waiting indefinitely otherwise. I may just have them done as a static window cling in either white/clear (if it's cost effective) or white/black like the pics show. Let me know if there are objections to either way - I just want to get them done and out there at this point.

Rick - I think at this point I'll take you up on that. I can email you the designs and original materials I used to create them, or just send the designs in whatever format the shop needs.

I talked with a local vinyl cutter out here who wouldn't do less then a dozen or more then 100 due to the "excessive amount of detail" and said it would likely be a $3-$6 per sticker (discounted price) and she refused to go smaller then 5x10 in rub transfer auto quality vinyl stickers. Just giving some info since I almost had a few made for myself.

Yeah, I've been seeing $2-$4+ each on the online sellers who will do a clear/white vinyl; most have minimum orders of 100 or more.

Wow... I just heard. This is so sad.

I came here for an internet advertisement in August of 2010. Johnny was selling his SVO intake. We eneded up with a deal.

That intake is still on my car.

Sorry to hear it happened that way.

I know a bit late but saw a bumper sticker that would be fitting in Johnny's case.

One I saw said "A Drunk Driver Killed MY Daughter.", made me think how about "A texting driver killed my Johnny."?

I do not mean to be inappropriate.

Thanks. The phrases quoted are more appropriate for a mother or wife than for a club of friends and associates.

Bumper stickers are so 1970's.

Final plans to produce the window stickers are under way. Thanks to OxmanWI for taking the reigns on this project.

Are we going to do Stickers or Clings?

Sticker would be applied to the top of a hard surface, the down side would be the sticker exposed to the elements and direct sunlight.

Cling would be inside of the glass surface, the down side those who have tinted windows

ideas?

Vinyl stickers would be ideal. I love the professional look of vinyl.

Otherwise I think regular stickers would be preferable to clings.

It says the sticker will be a White Vinyl (Opaque). So the lettering will be vinyl. For $2.11 more to the bulk order we can add an lamination film. Description: Thin clear lamination film is applied on the printed sign using Hot or Cold lamination process. Lamination offers the best protection against color fading, UV radiation and abrasion. It is also resistant to most petroleum based oils, greases, aliphatic solvents, mild acids, alkalies, and salts.

This can also be added to the Cling as well.

I still need to resize them to fit on a 2x5 cling, but they'll still look like this.

What I need to know before I finish the designs for a proof is whether the black in the picture should be the vinyl (white) and the white be transparent or set it so it's the other way around. I am personally in favor of the black in the images as the vinyl with the white being the transparency.

I agree!

Josh, can these be done with just lettering instead of a whole vinyl sticker? What I mean is, you peel the back away, apply to the window and the remove the top vinyl piece so only the lettering and logo are applied. It's the same set up for the Mid Atlantic decal on my car. Thanks for the picture Ron!

I am fairly certain I can get these run. I'm not going to promise anything at all, but I will run it by my vinyl guy. As stated, I think the cut vinyl (like Joe shows above) would be the best bet. I'm thinking that a printed sticker would fade out fast.

That said, are there any final renderings of these? I see the ones above. Is there a final for the Lincoln variation?

Isn't ClintD doing Vinyl these days?

He may not be able to touch the cost of some of the huge shops, but custom is a lot easier, maybe.

We should ask nicely, and see what he thinks about it.

Guys, I'm going to go ahead and try to get these made up again now that I'm in a somewhat better financial position to front the cash for the run. It's going to be white ink under a UV protective coating on a clear sticker with adhesive on the front (stick it on inside the car facing out). The size will be 5.5" wide by 2" high. My cost is going to be $1.443 each, so I can sell them for about $2.25 each to cover paypal fees and shipping, depending on quantity/fees/shipping etc. I'll get exact figures in a bit after I place the final order. If I get 50 of each my unit cost goes down to $1.228 each, so I could sell closer to $2 each shipped.

I'm not going to get a huge run of them made up - I was thinking something on the order of 30 Cougars and 30 T-birds. If interest is substantial enough I can get more. Also - if anyone prefers a static window cling of either type (can be easily removed or relocated), let me know and I can get a handful of them made up as well. Cost should be about the same.

The design concept is the same. In the above pics, white will be white and black will be transparent.
