Maybe I need a new strategy. I thought you would be sure to get laid if you got a Mexican gal to drink a fifth in May.

Might still work without the holiday...

1992 Tbird LX 5.0, 3.73 gears, 1995 Cobra intake, deleted air silencer, 2.5" mandrel bent dual exhaust, SCP shorty headers. Updated four-hole fuel injectors. SK shift kit in AOD. Vogtland 0.9" springs, Tokico and Bilstein shocks.

Actually this holiday only started in the US because of the Texas distributors for Corona and Negro Modelo

Cinco de Mayo is now to mexican restaurants what St Patricks Day is for Irish bars and Bastille Day for french restaurants -- their single busiest day.

Sounds about right.

Look at what we've done to all the other countries culture:

Chinese food, Japanese food, Pizza, Italian Cuisine, "Any Ethnic Group" food, Tea, Soda, and Beer.

Once it becomes American, it gets "Supersized", overloaded with meat, cheese, or other uber fattening product.

Actually Soda could be ours, IDK.

We have americanized lots of shit but you don't see a concerted marketing effort to get everyone into chinese restaurants on Chinese New Year (fun fact: it's often the one day a year that these restaurants are closed) or Italian restaurants on "columbus day" or sushi restaurants on V-J day

Someone is probably pitching it as we speak, given today's data-mining effectiveness, lol.

You can't get circuit boards or semiconductors shipped that week you mention, either.

I work with a multinational group, and it gets pointed out early how American Versions of things differ from Real Food, lol.

The small amount of rice I eat with the pound of General Cho's Chicken is not a real Asian dish, Apparently.

I have actually taken people to Hooters, and they thought they were going to eat buffalo.
And I found, No, there is no veggie menu.

I had to look this one up.
- Process of carbonation of water (to make soda water) invented by an Englishmen (pail of water suspended over a brewer's vat)
- A Swedish chemist figured out how to commercialize the process using chalk and sulferic acid (fun fact: we now use carbonic acid to make the fizzies and THAT invention was made by an American)
- Another Swede started adding flavors to the soda water (which is probably the first thing we would call "soda")
