Is that the SVT LTD? There's a white SVO/SVT around here someplace. (Here being San Diego. I've seen it a few times at shows)

The one pictured above obviously isnt, but the one i seen in the magazine sounds pretty close to what your talking about.

That would seriously be the coolest and cheapest car to hook up...think about it, how dime a dozen and cheap are fox body parts these days??? That would be an awesome project that wouldnt eat ur wallet.

Wow, tons of amazing info. I'm surprised about the whole Austrailian car thing. Why do they get such cool cars?

According to Kelly Blue Book they were only made in 1985 with the 302. You could get the base models in 85 and 86 with a 2.5L 4 banger or a 3.8L V6.

yea 1980's fairmonts/futuras/granadas/ltds/crown vics/marquis's talk about boxy really UGLY cars...remind me what the little known mn-12 thing is about them?

I posted this in the Mexicali Cougar SC thread last night, I figure it's probably little known...

http://waysandmeans.house.gov/legacy...7/9-11beck.htm

The relevent MN12 quote...

The study states: "NAFTA has enabled Ford to make its established plants in Mexico more efficient. Ford decided to consolidate all production of Ford Thunderbirds and Mercury Cougars at its Lorain, Ohio assembly plant, discontinuing low volume production of these two models at its Cuautitlan plant in Mexico." (page 46)

I see it now, they moved the lower LTD trims to the Fox line while keeping the high trim LTD on the Panther line. Still very confusing to have a different trim level be on a different chassis, gotta love Ford!

No idea what happened to the link but if you really want to bore yourself to death reading congressional drivel about nafta it's http://waysandmeans.house.gov/legacy...7/9-11beck.htm

BUT i already quoted all the relevent MN12 info... "the study" they reference is the "Study on the Operation and Effects of the North American Free Trade Agreement" sent to Congress in July by President Clinton (in 1997)

I searched for a copy of it online but no luck.

So the question now is was the last MN-12 Cougar XR7 a V-8 or were there some V-6's on the line after it???

I ran this vin at work on a Ford system. (I can't really get too much into it since I probably shouldn't have been doing it) It was red on red and bought in Oklahoma.

Interesting, what do you mean it was "red on red"???

I thought the last year for the red interior was 95's "Ruby Red"?

Well a red interior would be rather odd as my 97' Ford Service CD says the 4 interior trim codes for 97' are:

G Willow (Green)
P Portifino (Blue)
2 Med. Graphite (Gray)
7 Light Prairie Tan (Tan)

According to coolcats.net the last year for red was the "Ruby Red" offered on 95's so if they used red interiors in some of the 97's they must of been using up everything they had left in stock by the end of the run...or it was some kind of special car.

They changed the green over time, too...in 94-95 it was darker than in 96-97....the last two years it was more of a minty color.....I really like the green interiors....

OH man, i'd love me one of those fox bodies. I'd prefer a Granada ESS (pretty rare) or a two door Fairmont. They're boxy, but classy.......plus u can stuff a nice beefy big block in them with no problems.

anywho, back to the rare mn12 things.....i dont know if any body has mentioned that there were a few sets produced of these 17" fanblade rims (similar to the 93 mustang cobra) produced for the 89 SC show car:

This was just on the front page so i figured i'd post it here.
