I hate you all...But not as much as my ISP.

I think I need to call them and see if they will exchange my DSL modem. It will crash and needs to be reset at least 5 times a day.

That's an A +++ in my book! I guess it's based upon the speed of your peer market - in this case Japan must have the fastest internet in the world!

Goes by the area, and the US is way behind than other countries, so what might be A +++ for us is an A- for them.

Big pipes and lots of hops. I'd trade a little of that pipe's size to get less hops myself.

The grade though is taken from the % on the right of the grade and FWIW ping time differences don't usually change my score.

But yes, we are pretty bad off. You can see just how bad by browsing around here: http://www.netindex.com/

I dunno, not my router. He has his media PC in the living room hardwired. The wireless is only for his tablet, netbook, phones, friends devices, and laptops he works on. He's a little more worried about other things than wireless at the moment. But he works for the cable company, so he gets cable and internet all for free. He also runs his XBox 360s off of a wired connection, and he uses Media Center to playback videos in the bedroom from the media PC in his living room. Really, I'm surprised he hasn't upgraded, but he doesn't really need it, since he's mostly using them for the hard connections. And he has two, so I'm not sure which is wired and which isn't.

I, however, just recently upgraded to a 8-port wireless N router, so I could hook all my stuff up. Even with the wireless devices being connected that way, I still didn't have enough ports. But currently, I don't have my own place.

I should have sent the crap back when AT&T couldn't give me 7mbps.

I heard that HughesNet has improved. I am considering this one my contact is up. Its either that or share out a 4G Cellular connection.

Your internet connection should be the same as your brother's right here if you're reading the network connection speed.

If you're going to the same speed test site on your brother's computer and he's getting something significantly faster, then it's likely a WiFi related issue. But, I doubt that.
