No. Stupid oversized chrome wheels and useless hoodscoops are ricer, not mullet. Mullet would be tires sticking out past the quarter panels due to a rear lift via air shocks.

Thunderbird: Holy Roller Edition

Once again in my travels I run across a very unique find...

I spotted this Holy Roller Edition Thunderbird at a gas station here in Washington last week. The guy driving it was gracious enough to let me snap a few pictures of the car. I asked him if he'd made any other modifications to the car, he said the only mods to the car are the stickers and paint on the tires.

I think it's kind of ugly. I like the Impala SS, and Thunderbirds, but the roof line was butchered in this combo. It doesn't flow, any of the lines. Particularly the top of the side windows, and the trunk.

you say impala but i see tbird windows and rockers. that thing screams thunderbird! so is it an impala with bird parts or a converted bird. its one of those two.

If your exhaust tip is larger than your cylinder bore, then you are a Ricer.

It has thunderbird side windows, we had this discussion years ago. The body is a modified impala body.

The front is Impala SS, from the doors back is a Thunderbird, if you can't see that then I'm surprised your a member of this forum.

My wheels are like that, I had my tires rotated, and they put them on like that. They aren't really backwards because the tire itself has no direction, but it does look weird. I saw a tbird yesterday with similar thing, they were on "backwards". They looked nice, they looked like sport rims, but different. They had big hub caps with a thunderbird on it, but it was a 96/97 so I think the rims weren't original. I looked good/trashy at the same time. Nice blue with a spoiler, but pealing paint and a trailer hitch with no ball on it, just, but the rest of the hitch was there. Really dark tint too.

This car was discussed 2 years before you joined, I thought it used the tbird midsection too, but it turned out the builder reworked the impala body to get the windows to fit. There were a few dozen links and progress pictures posted too.

It is an impala minus the side windows.

So just that section of glass? If thats all they used I would imagine it would have looked better, I think it looks odd. Kinda just thrown together, which it sounds like it is. I wish there were more pictures of the car, anyone know where I can find them?

haha... sorry, I just saw the rear window and knew it was tbird, and the rest of the rear look out of place so I guessed it was also tbird. I don't get why you would do this to an Impala SS, I know, a Chevy, but I think they're cool for what they are, and kinda they're rare.

speaking of resurrection.

isn't that a 96/97 hood also? I didn't know it would fit with 94/5 lights.

It's not the best fit, but usually the not fitting issue is with 96-97 lights with the older hood, since it causes a gap above the lights.

Needs more stall.

I saw that 2 door Impala SS at SSHS9 and talked to the owner/builder. the roof line was chopped 2 inches, the rear window was raked and the doors were extended 9 in (i think thats what he said). in person it was amazing the amount of craftsmanship that he put in it....and yes the rear quarter windows are from a T-bird.

Has a 383 with a 6spd(iirc)

He kept all the interior space.
I believe he was from VA
