I had new tires put on my Mustang today at the dealership that I work at. I got a set of new Continental ExtremeContact DWs and they are fantastic tires. The service department even washed my Mustang for me to make up for not being able to diagnose the issues on my Thunderbird which is still marooned in the parking lot at my work. I've been parking next to myself everyday lately. I snapped this picture before I left work today.

Decided to try macro photography for the first time today. Here's the best shot. Taken with a $8 macro tube and a $15 lens.

Good eye Raptor! It's not a new new build, I picked up some used gear off of a friend for cheap, which is still miles ahead of my previous 6-year old stuff.

It is a DFI LAN Party board, 4 GB RAM, Zalman cooler, dual HD 4870 video cards, and an Intel dual core 3.0GHz OC'd to 3.6. I picked up the Antec 750w power supply later, still need my SSD and a 64-bit copy of Windows 7.

Some people are Just Not Very Smart.

Picture: Walnut veneered particle board and/or MDF for a cabinet maker. (Yes, think about that.) This is high end finish on it (Yes, think about THAT!) Sheets that run about $50/ea for 4x8 in 5/8" thickness.

They ship in packages of 50 sheets.

When shipped, they normally wrap it in poly sheets off of a roll - they lay some down, lay the package on it, roll the poly on top, cut it off, and staple it to the sides. Which is OK.

THIS shipper wasn't that smart ...

Add to that the fact they used religious tarps (they were "holey"), and drove through rain ... Insurance will be writing off over 330 sheets. At $50/sheet.

Consider yourself back in a bit of luck Chris I havent enjoyed my job in years or had an enjoyable job because of corporate people ruining an otherwise ok place to be at. Its a stressful type of environment in many different types of places here in the valley. Its because business is so slow for most that one mistake like ralph showed above means youre not in hot water at all youre just out of a job no if ands or buts. Its a right to work state here. Ive been let go from a place for a mistake but then the whole place got laid off later on anyway. Its still pretty rough out here. But its getting better overall and has been getting better for a while now.
Again youre a lucky duck I hope you work out well there.

Nice! Mount Washington allows for outstanding views of the city. The West End Overlook is great, but not as close to the point. I dig the long-exposure shots too. Great stuff.

I'll up the ante this time and post a shot I took of a lightning storm:

Thanks.

Wow, you've really thrown down the gauntlet. That's a great shot.

Lucky for me I've got some L series glass that I rented for Summer Blast that I'm going to have to find some other use for. I'll see what I can come up with this weekend.

Sorry I missed you this past weekend. I'm still in town until Thursday. We're having fiddy-cent Taco's at Don Pablo's tomorrow night if you'd like to join me and some co-workers.
