ac vent door

Hi from BC Canada.
I just purchased a 97 Tbird 1 owner from Texas. an Ohio plant car. its a 4.6 and I,m really liking it. I have 2 problems though but 1 is bothering me more than the other but they both may be related.
my problem I think is the vent door is not opening. I get heat from the floor and defrost but no air from vents. the yellow vacuum line is laying down by the gas pedal but still connected to the dash panel but not the panel defrost door. I have a schamatic of the line but I do not know where the connection is located under the dash. could someone show me where that end connects? please.

First, welcome to TCCoA!
Second, the defrost door is going to be in the center of the dash, towards the front of the car. That is the area you should find the connection. It will be difficult to get to it with the dash in place sadly.

That is the assembly you are looking for. You may be able to get at it by just removing the steering column and a unplugging a few connectors but I am not certain. Hopefully someone else with more experience than me will join this thread and give some advice.
It makes me wonder how that line even became unattached.

I,m assuming the person who installed the stereo knocked it loose and possibly unplugged the right side mirror.
