*mods*
-new pioneer cd deck with iPod adapter in the glove box
-used 12" JL Audio sub
-tint, 35% on back three, 50% on sides , or 20% and 35%, what ever is darkest legal in NE.
-sub replaced with new kicker 10" (by far better sounding and a bit more room in the trunk)
-moved iPod adapter to center counsol and added aux input

*desired mods*
-air silencer removal (probably next few days)
-k&n panel (unless anyone has used the cone and would recomend it, it seems dumb that the stock intake is a better cold air than the k&n system since it sucks air from the engine compartment)
-spoiler with leds, my high mounts keep burning out, and I mean BURNING out (one had a hole melted in it)
-keyless entry
-new headlights (clear corners)
-light tint on the tail lights
-new tires (the old guy before me put hard rubbered tires with slight white walls on them)
-of course a super charger (or just swap to a mustang cobra v8)

*repairs and tune-ups*
-intake manifold gaskets
-fuel injector clean
-new power antenna mast (old one broke and would only go down about half way)
-rear end links
-need vacuum lines checked because of rough idle on occasion

Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Haha. The only thing different on the car is that it has ABS removed and the cats gutted, and both of those were done before I started driving it. I want to do the air silencer, but I'm scared I'll mess something up doing it by myself.

Ok, I just took the air silencer out today and ordered a k&n panel. What would be a good mod to do next on a very tight budget? If there is anything else like the air silencer where I can just remove something to get a bit more pep would be nice.

CD player - (premium sound with a tape deck - what was Ford thinking?)

Rims - made the car an entirely different beast...too bad it was still an inch and half too high.

Then, removing the stupid silencer.

Then...I got bit by the mod bug and started adding sideskirts, spoiler, gauges, SC seats, U/D pullies, sport brakes, rear end, lowering springs, blah blah blah...

89 Cougar XR-7...slightly modded, 240 rwhp / 340 rwtq, Best time as of 4/22/12 = 13.11 @ 103.82, 1.78 60'

In my case, it was fog lights. Seeing at night on these cars stinks! (Then I saw the light and got HIDs...) ... Then it was the J-mod. After that came the PI intake, 80mm MAF and tune, followed by the trans cooler. Next came the cams, then the projector HIDs, PBR brakes, stereo upgrades, Cobra Rs, drive shaft, exhaust and now the gears. I have a feeling PI heads and/or a torque converter may be next.

Then there's this... First Modification to do?

.....well birthday is coming up might get 3500 stall??... maybe.. i want to do more with the motor (heads) but running 145k miles might look at a mark VII motor next (after college of course)

I don't have any vision problems at all, even in the rain. In fact, the light output of my 96 is quite comparable to that of many new cars. I have nothing special with my setup, just OEM headlight assemblies and PIAA bulbs.

I'm curious as to why you are considering PI heads. You already have the cams intake, so there's little room for improvement. You'd be much better off and put less money/time into it by purchasing a decent set of aftermarket cams.

My first mod will be a PI engine. Hopefully by the end of January

I love my V8, but I'd love it more if all 8 cylinders worked. (they do now)

Good point with the cams. I have been thinking about them as well, but as for the heads I'm thinking about them mainly because it's losing a bit of oil which I'm thinking is the valve guides. Since I don't ever plan on going with a PA I think the engine would be happy with the increased compression. If I do get heads I'm going to have them P&P'd before they go on, and I would probably go with cams at that time if I fork out the cash. Right now it's just pure speculation... I think I need to focus on the trans and converter more than anything else right now.
