3% on back 3 windows w/ 20% on the sunroof. you can see the clear corners and my headlights from this angle

So what was everyone's first mods?

My first mod was to get the car running by doing the Explorer swap/j-mod/oil and tranny cooler/removed air silencer and poly bushing up front all at once.

Mind you, I got this car when I was 16, but my first mods were:
Stereo
K&N panel filter/air silencer
Tinted rear taillights

And I don't know if everyone's first mod should include the clear corners. They don't look bad, but they're just not for me. I may eat those words someday, but I like my stockers.

First mod on an MN12? We stuck a 98 Mustang 3.8L V6 in my first daily driver (89 Cougar LS) back in '99. And that's where it all started for me with these darn MN12's.

well technically the first mod for my 97 was clear corners seeing how i got them 2 days after i received the 97. i ordered the clear corners before i knew i was getting the car so yea.

i guess i only have one real mod then lol...

I told myself the only things i would do to this car is tint/sound/exhaust/intake. maybe a lil engine bling but nothing major. i gotta fix my dam misfire first.

I simply cannot understand everybody's fascination with clear corners. Why???
How could it be considered "custom" when thousands of people have installed them?
In many cases, they make the front end look worse. Hell, many of them leak and get condensation inside. It reminds me of the cheap altezzas people buy to look "different." It makes absolutely no sense.

That looks awkward to me. The corners stand out WAY too much. The stock pieces would look better.

I suppose I'll get jumped all over for this, but I really don't care...

EDIT: I changed a word...

I see your point about the clear corners. Don't agree with it, but I understand it.

A lot of it has to do with what color the car is. I had a prairie tan T-bird and didn't really care to put clear corners on it. On my blue LE they looked great. And they didn't leak or get condensation in them. I just wish they had both survived the deer hit.

I suppose my first three mods (to my first bird) were common enough.
I lost the air silencer, put in Scotts gauges, and put on big (245/50/15) tires.

My second bird (red 97 Sport) I didn't have long enough to do anything to except put on an extra gauge face from Scott.

The LE , lost the silencer, got a set of scotts gauge faces, and true duals. Then a lot more after that.

Porky, Give us a side by side comparison of your corners, cause what I think is happening, is since your headlights are darkened on the inside, the clear corners are standing out because of it. Now, I think it would look better if the interior of the corners were blackened a bit, then it would be a liitle more uniform. Know what I mean man???

Other than that, good job. She looks better, and you need to get her lowered.

Ya, its funny, Funny like a Clown.

trust me if i was to take apart the corners and paint them to match the projectors it wouldnt stand out. i doubt ill do that anytime soon seeing how these are brand new corners and no they dont leak. last pair i tried to pry off to paint and chipped it so i gave up on it. untill my dremel skills improve im not touching the corners.

im liking all these ideas cuz most of them im forgetting ie: the silencer

yea roger it needs to be lowered but i need to fix the torn front bushings.

...as for clear corners i got mine because the stock drivers side lens fell off somewhere on the elgin/ohare expressway, and the clear ones i got were much cheaper than the oem replacments. once i put them on they looked 10x better than stock, they fit better, and havent fogged up in the rain like the stock ones did

plus theres lots of mods here hundreds of people have such as lowering springs/cobra-or mustang rims/cowl hoods but they all want to look different. obviously you can see from my projector headlights that i want to be different, so i guess im on the right route huh?

I'll say it. Yes they do. Rounded lenses jutting out past flat headlights definately stands out. Now as for clear, no, that looks just fine.

Oh, and first mods... Headlight covers, Bra, tinted tails, ghetto exhaust and removed air silencer. The tint was on it when I got it.
