More weight removal.

Well, I finally got a hold of a heat gun to scrape all the rubberized coating inside and out of the car.....all of it!

Its a slow process, I've only done the trunk so far, and the box is getting pretty heavy.
I'll get a final weight once I'm done.

Nick......................I'm back!!!
May you fly low and fast
rest in peace JL

Allrigght, the plan for this is, get all the rubber off, then, sand it all down, smooth some areas out, and repaint it. I'm also going to put the firewall in, and add some more sheet aluminum to some areas to make it look even nicer. If funds allow, I'm going to order the roll cage soon, and add that to the mix, along with making a custom sheet metal dash as well. Should look like a totally different car from the inside.

Nah........ It's not the beer that motivates me....

And guys, before performing a job of this magnitude, ask yourself, is this worth it?????

On a daily driver car, hell no..... On a dedicated drag car, yes. Every pound counts. What Nick is going to hate is when I start removing all the crap from my stang and get my car's weight down to ~2800 or less.

I've got little 'things' for the engine....I just need some other things to make the first things work.

With me out of the car, it was 2,960 lbs.

Amazing how all that gunk adds up. Like stated before, you probably shouldn't even bother to do this on your DD. But if it's strictly the weekend warrior, go for it if you have the patience.
