1995 T-Bird

Engine: 4.6
City MPG: 21-22
Highway MPG: 30
Fuel Used: 87
Average highway speed: 74
Average Climate: varied
Mechanical Mods: K&N, new MAF
Mileage on the engine: 193K
Oil: Havoline 10W30

Comments: Putting on a new Advance Auto MAF increased hwy mileage 2-3 MPG! I got 30 MPG avg over 1400 miles of hwy driving, mix of hills and flat.

The car (along with every car I ever had) has always gotten better mileage in the summer, even with the A/C on 90% of the time!

Fuel Used:Whatever is the cheapest
Average highway speed: 65-80 mph
Average Climate:warm to hot.. SF bay area
Mechanical Mods: K&N drop in
Milage on the engine: 123,xxx
Comments:
My driving is basically get up to highway speed for a mile or two and stop for a stoplight. Repeat up to 10 times each way. It's horrible. Speed, stop, speed, stop, etc..

This is my first tank of gas since I "rescued" this car.. Was in BAD shape.. Plug wires were in pieces, front o2's were bad, plugs pretty much wasted, lots of vacuum leaks..

Edit: last tank was 17.9 mpg. This tank is looking worse, traffic is horrible and the skinny pedal has been used a lot the last couple days.

Left the dead platform for good. It's nice finally having a car you can buy stuff for!

ahah my EGR hasn't worked right since I started fiddling with it. As soon as I get home I'm putting a Ford DPFE sensor on it and finishing up a tune from scratch now that I've got a dongle to use LOL. Only took me 6 months to order a new one. Also I'll be able to fix my exhaust leak and degree in the cams. As for the intake. I like my Gas mileage. If it gets carbon build up... welll hey. That's what Sea foam is for

I GPS'd exactly 170 miles yesterday. Mostly HWY driving at 70-80mph and probably 15 miles of that 170 was in town. I filled back up after 170 miles and it took 8.3 gallons which =20.5mpg. I personally was pretty happy with that.

136k miles

My commute is 55 miles each way to and from work. Speed limits are 65mph for about 20 miles of it, 55mph for about another 25 miles and 25mph for the rest.

I average between 23mpg and a crazy high of 30mpg (One tank)
Summer average is close to 28mpg, winter is closer to 23mpg (Warm-up time)

Before I started commuting I was only getting about 15 mpg which was primarily in town driving.

my mileage just took a nose dive. went from 21mpg down to 17mpg. im still doin 65mph on the highway. so no real reason for it to take a nose dive like that, but oh well

Man all you gotta do is swap to a new gear and you can get that trip/odometer working again

If you can't hear it before you see it...what's the point?

And why are you questioning it exactly? Well-maintained modular motors will easily go that far.

I live in Northern Minnesota, and I average 18 in town, 26-30 highway depending on how fast I'm going. I get better mileage on non-oxygenated premium, as it's real gas not partially alcohol. It may cost a little more, but try filling up with good gas and see how it does. A little seafoam to clean out the system and making sure the air and oil filters (along with the oil of course) get changed reguarly are important.

I can vouch for one. My brother's 92 pickup had a 350 and was at 338k miles on the original engine when I rebuilt the heads due to oil consumption. It went to near 350k before he sold it. Don't know where it's at now.
