Nice picture. Thank you Rick.

92 Sport -5.0L
Just some bolt-ons and a pile of parts on the back burner. There's more on the "To-Do" list than on the "Done" list.
97 Sport -4.6L
Rolling on 17s, otherwise stock. "To-Do" list: PI cams & intake, ported Crown Vic plenum, 75mm TB.

You know, if you'd quit running them on nitroglycerin with C4 padding, you'd not have so many exploded engines!

Seriously, thanks.

I would have thought that diagram would be drawn on the walls of some cave. The cracks in the rocks acurately mimic the cracks in the mains 5.0s like to grow

I thought those "cracks that like to grow" occurred around the camshaft in these engines?

Is it just me noticing in the diagram or did the Victoria/Marquis/Town Cars have their 5.0 intake manifolds pointing intake to the drivers side with the air intake on the right?

The diagram would seem to point that way. Never looked at a 5.0 in those cars.

Yes, the panther cars have the battery mounted in the right front corner, and the intake pointing the opposite way with the airbox in the left front corner.

-91 Cougar LS, coming soon, complete overhaul with a 427" Windsor.
-90SC 5-speed, MP2, coated rotors, double intercooler, 15%OD, ported heads, comp stage 1 cam, 85mm TB, 90MM LMAF, 80# injectors, soon to be transplanted into...
-90 XR7 5-speed black on black w/sunroof
-98 Mark VIII LSC, Procharger P600b, TR3650 swap and 3.73s.
-70 Torino GT Fastback project car. Needs EFI and a manual trans, but I'm not sure what motor to go with yet.

Same thing with the 4.6L engines. The intake points the other direction - interesting!

One would think consistency would make this simpler, cheaper to build, fix, and modify. There must have been some reason for it.

I can understand the pulley and cooling intake / exhaust positions due to unibody structures. Can't quite figure out the intake righty / lefty variation logic.

The intake isn't redesigned, its just bolted on the other way.
you can flipe them without a problem.

I've come into this world with nothing and still manage to have some of it left.
