Well the last solid axle models could hold their own with the best of them in the handling department, the only tradeoff obviously being ride quality(which, it's a Mustang, who cares about refinement?). I think Europe won't appreciate it as much as Ford thinks they will, they don't necessarily want a Mustang that drives like everything else they already can get.

As far as the advance of technology it's all compensation for the fact that all new cars and trucks including the Mustang have become lardasses.

I'm actually looking forward to these. I'm not gonna buy one. The Orginal SVO Mustangs were a HUGE step for Ford and a big risk. Generally they were well received and praised for their handling. To best of my knowledge these were the first production product from SVO/SVT.

I was there when they were testing the SVO prototypes at Nelsons Ledges at the 24 hours of Nelsons along with the EXP Turbos - remember those the SVO Mules were running the aluminum "artillery" wheels off the LSC's. And both cars were eating front wheel bearings like candy. I think they had three or four SVOs entered. After they exhausted their stock of wheel bearings of wheel bearings they started pulling them off the support vehicles they drove down from Dearborn sitting in the paddock. There was probably 10 mustangs and EXPs sitting on jack stands out there stripped to the spindles This was the same month the spy photos started showing up of the SVO Mustang. So it was kinda neat knowing you were seeing something that no one had really seen yet. I think one SVO Mustang DNF'd and the other two or three made it to the finish line.

The nice thing about the Ecoboost 4 is.... You don't have to buy it! All the other options are still there. I would actually like to see them do a SVO type edition geared towards club racers that was stripped and put on a diet.
