will 96-04 4.6l 2v mustang gt headers work on the 96 thunderbird

No they wont work, Thunderbirds need a totally different style. I have a set of Shortys that have a crack in them that would need to be welded up, ill sell them to you cheap.

If Im not mistaken Kooks is the only place to get headers for T-Birds. At least thats lots of users on here buy.

I have read that the Mustang headers will bolt to the engine (of course). But there are clearance issues on the drivers side. Seems Mustang headers won't clear the steering shaft. If you can resolve that issue (re-route either header, or shaft) then they may work. But most decide its just easier to buy the Kooks... or port/polish the factory exhaust manifolds.
