My 1997 TBirds a/c compressor is not getting power, technician says its a bad relay in the box just in front of the air box-he says the box is basicly sealed and the entire thing needs to be replaced-(also says it has relays for other stuff besides the a/c.......his cost is $187. for this box new from Ford.....should I chance a used one? is this a good price for new?? any suggestions?

I would chance a used one. You can also take it apart and replace the relays yourself if you are handy! Someone posted a website to get the relays at a LONG time ago.

I've got one if you need it. You can get "new" ones from RockAuto for around $100.
