The Mark is Supercharged

Hi all, Here is a picture and video update of my S/C project. It will be dialed in the next few days, and to the dyno within the next week or so. Enjoy

Very nice, clean work there. Whoever did the welding really deserves a pat on the back. Those welds are beautiful.

How much boost are you planning on running? Anything done internally on the engine? If not, I'll pray for your rod bearings. Mine didn't last too long.

Thanks everyone. This S/C build was professionally managed and installed by Aric Carrion of Injected Engineering - Kennesaw, GA.
ph# 678.449.6871 http://www.injectedengineering.com/

I highly recommend Aric and his company. As you can see, his work speaks for itself

The engine internals are completely stock, and the plan is to lay down 400-450rwhp. Since this is a stock motor, we all know they will not live on the edge too long.

Therefore, real world numbers might be closer to 400rwhp. Aric will decide this while tuning on the dyno. I will post the dyno results as soon as I can, so stay tuned...

Todd Fisher with Grand Mufflers - Marietta, GA did the totally custom exhaust, and Joey Bell of Bell Chassis Works - Woodstock, GA did all the intercooler plumbing. These guys are the best.

Went to the dyno last night Here is the video of the last two pulls and the dyno sheet.

Aric is going to go ahead and install a Vortech mini race blow off valve to help smooth the idle pulse, and put his boost gauge on it to see what psi it is running at. He still wants to look into a couple things yet, so this is an excellent starting point, or finish point for that matter - since I am already happy with it the way it is.

The weather was nasty yesterday for a tune - hot, and raining, but the intercooler did it's job keeping the air temp only 8 degrees above what the Mark's outside temp gauge showed.

On the down side... I have major traction issues now

If she's ready for T&T on the 29th I'm there. Assuming, of course, that Jameson Inn or your buddies at Holiday Inn Express have a place for me to flop afterwards.

What trim level is the vortech, and what diameter pulley are you running?

Thanks,

I talked to Ryan today, and he said that Aric has decided to put a Cobra intake on it now. This will impact the T&T I wanted to do on the 29th at ATL dragway. More like July now for the T&T. The vortech mini race blow off valve is on order, and still waiting for the brakes, rims, and tires to arrive at the shop.

The Vortech is a polished V2 SQ SC trim, and sorry, I have no idea what the pulley size or how much boost it has at this time.

Dude, totally sweet car. I always wanted to custom fab up some sort of air-to-air intercooler on my car if I ever go with a Vortech, so that was some pretty awesome motivation.

What kind of IC did you wind up using?

Be very, very careful with that torque converter-it's a timebomb if you're locking it at WOT at all.

Thanks for the heads up JL.

Smokymance, From what I understand, the SVT Focus pump alone is good enough for the power I am making. The KB BAP is like a insurance policy to make sure the pump is running at max all the time. This is how Aric wired the BAP to run anyway.

Aric called today, and said the Vortech mini blow off valve is now installed on the Mark, and the idle is now smooth

He had time today to put his boost gauge on, and to work on some vacuum line issue, and decided to take it back to the dyno.

I do not have a sheet for this, but he said he dyno pulled 383rwhp with a max of 8psi boost that hit at 6500rpm using a 3.50 pulley with a fat air/fuel mix using the stock gen2 intake. That is good enough for me!

He said we do not need the Cobra intake now, and I am a pulley size away from going beyond 400rwhp. He said this tune is super safe, and I should be able to run it hard all day at the track if I like.

He is now setting up the transmission shift program, button everything up, and also try to locate me some new battery cables because I think they look like crap.

If all goes well, maybe by this weekend I will get to drive the Mark until all the brake, rim, and tire stuff comes in.
