beware of those focus pumps. their not designed for constant voltage return fuel systems unless you converted your PCM, the programming and all the other sensors over to retrunless. I personally burned up a set of aviator pumps with my car. and the suck thing about it is that they go one at a time slowly so it creates a lean condition. and with a BAP that may make it worse. Just a heads up.

Looks great and has the balls to back it up. I know Aric spent some serious time polishing up those tubes so keep em clean!

I'd lay a sizeable wager that will NOT be a problem for Mike. They'll be polished and have 15 coats of wax on 'em before he's had it back 48 hours. ![]()

I am going to pick up the Mark tomorrow afternoon
I stopped by the shop today, and Aric had the Mark completely detailed inside and out including a Zaino treatment for me I truely appreciate that.He is installing all new battery cables from a Mustang GT, since Ford no longer has a battery cable harness available for the Mark VIII. He had Joey Bell weld the Vortech mini race blow off valve directly before the intake of the intercooler(drivers side of the IC) - venting to atmosphere. He also kept the bypass valve installed in it's original location. Ryan is going to send me a picture of the blow off valve installed. He has the transmission shifting done, and we were going to take it for a ride until it started raining. A couple things he noted were... The TC would unlock when the A/C would cycle on (or the other way around - I can't remember all he said). This is a Lincoln thing to not disturb the passengers with the engine load change. He fixed that. The other is a little more complicated. He said this car will just flat out totally roast the stock tires now, all through first and second gear by just stabbing the gas. The problem is while in second gear, the computer is reading 85mph and is commanding third gear, when in reality, it might be going half that speed. When the wheel spin finally stops and it hooks in third gear, the transmission is then commanded to drop back down to second. The brakes, rims, and tires are on order, and the rears are 10 1/2" wide rims and the tire size is now going to be 305/35/18. Bad news is, it is looking like August time frame before everything comes in. Thanks for the heads up Phreakness. I told Aric about it. Scott, I can't thank you enough for helping Aric out with this build. It is really appreciated. I owe you big time, and I promise to keep the Mark spotless too ![]() LOL Marvin, You know me all to well ![]()

No wonder I've had such a hard time getting Aric on the phone lately, he's been busy. Looking good.

Thanks guys.
![]() Joel, I will post all the rim measurements when Aric sends them to me. Well everyone, The Mark is home now, and we are getting reacquainted again Here are some final result SC build pictures, and the final dyno tune sheet. I will post a time slip from the drag strip, and bring closure to this thread.I would like to thank everyone for their participation in this thread, as it did help me alot. Hopefully, everyone has learned something along the way, and the next person doing this type of SC build can use this info to help them with their build. ![]() Finally, A huge THANK YOU to Injected Engineering, for making my dream come true Enjoy!![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

You sure have a beautiful performance car! Nice progressive power to play with too. I only wish I could buy a sedan version of your ride.

Good eye, Joel. Yes, it is a Pioneer GPS Navigation Multimedia AVIC-D2 in-dash head unit, and a Myron & Davis AD525 1/2 DIN DVD Player with remote control, installed in the glove compartment. Here are some pictures of it: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pi...D2%20large.jpg ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Sweet ride, inside and out, all the way around. Talk about a "luxury" hot rod !!
Great dyno results for the pulley you're running. Atlanta seems to be the place to bring your Cat/Bird/Mark ... ... if you can't get her to Texas... Aric's shop is top notch, and he was paying attention and taking notes during all those Team Ford "J" tuning sessions over the years. I've spent some time in his shop and at the dyno and watched him work.. I've seen sweet rides go through his hands, and your's is one of them for sure. Aric and Scott make a great team... I had the same thought as Johnny when I saw the single disc PI TC. Mine wouldn't stay locked up under N/A power, and when it went back to PI, they said there was nothing wrong with it ... I predict a call to Circle D in your future... Another candidate for SSHS up in Commerce this November??? Aric should have GB on the dyno within the next few weeks. I'm sure I'll be up for the fun .. if all goes well I should be test driving her on the street of the Greater Atlanta Area .. maybe our paths will cross.. I'd love to see your Mark in person... Keep her going in a straight line !!! nah, that's no fun... ![]() -mike

Thanks again, Guys.
![]() Mike, Thanks. I have been at SSHS the last three years, and already signed up again for SSHS7 as car # 281 http://www.sshs7.com/ lol, Our paths have crossed a few times already. We originally met at SSHS three years ago. You had the Vette, and Scott brought Cougie and Linky. A couple of us Mark VIII guys had helped VicRattlehead fix his brakes that year. Last time we talked was at Team on January 27 to watch GB on the rollers. You and Scott gave me the grand tour of GB ![]() Have Aric give me a call when you are in town again. He has carte blanche use of the Mark, and can take you for a spirited ride if you like. Please let me know when GB is ready and going back to the dyno. I would really like to see that again.

I guess it was the Darth Vader Mask that had me fooled...
I remember now... I'm not sure how it's all gonna play out. Last time I chatted with Scott he said he might take a couple of days off during the week to swap the pulleys and final prep GB for the next dyno session. Since Aric isn't locked in to using Team Ford's dyno on Saturdays any more, whenever she's ready she can hit the rollers. I asked Scott to let me know when he and Aric come up with a plan. There are a couple of guys up that way that want to be notified, Timb and Russell, I'll add you to the list of invitees... The more the merrier.. There's one other thing Aric and those guys do well, and that 's EAT. He and Scott seem to know the best breakfast and lunch spots around Kennesaw/Marrietta... If nothing else, we'll eat real good... Gotta make sure I make weight ....I'm not signed up for SSHS 7. We're close, but we're not there yet.. I sure don't want to put any undue pressure on Scott, ya know... I'd love to take a ride in the Mark.. Look forward to it .. -mike |

Mike, I'm not sure you and Scott can't be held responisble for him catching the bug, at least in part. He was ok until that year when he gets up there to SSHS and sees all those nice cars, and Irv just toastin' them in a car that looks almost like his. After that he just can't put his wallet away .... ![]() Shhhh... don't tell anyone but Mike has a secret to "making weight" too... Hardee's biscuits.

I went to the track last night, and wanted to post the results.
I did a total of 5 runs, and Aric did 3 runs. Traction was a big issue, and the shift points still need work. Aric loaded up a cool program on the xcal2. A totally electronic manual valve body He used it on the last run of the night. This file will turn the Mark into a manual shift car. Leave it in third - and it will stay in third, even leaving from a stop light. I have it on video, it is the last video below. The best run of the day was a 12.745 @ 108.43. It is the first video below. Here is the slip: 60'.....1.865 330'....5.337 1/8.....8.179 mph.....86.26 1000'..10.660 1/4....12.745 mph....108.43 I am the driver for the first video during the day. The three night videos are with Aric driving the Mark.

Don't know if this is a real issue, but when I was running big HP and starting in second gear once it blew the TC shaft seal out of the trans and bled fluid out like a mother fer.
I wonder if the pump feedback gets overwhelmed in those instances. Very very nice work all around on the car. Wish I had the coin to finish mine. |

Thanks again, Guys. Hope to see you at SSHS7!
Ryan and Aric received the newest addition to the Mark the other day. Reichard Racing Ultra Grip 3.1 Pulley. Should be good for 11-12 PSI. This won't go on the car until just before SSHS7. http://www.reichardracing.com/ultra_grip_pulley.php# ![]()

Personally, I'd rather have belt dust then belt slip.
![]() ![]() ![]() Mike, Nice to see you and the Mark up at Aric's last week. The car is perfect and has the power to put my Mark to shame...for now at least. I'm doing another Century (100 miles) on Sunday and will be sporting an Injected logo on my Team Jersey. Thanks again Injected for sponsoring my team (Atlanta Pro Bikes) and keeping Me and the Modulars on the east coast running strong. ![]() Injected... always at the front of the pack. -Scott |
