Pic request - 92+ 5.0 upper intake - TB & TV bracketry

Hello,

I'm wondering if it would be possible for someone to post (take?) some pictures of the throttle body and throttle valve (aod equipped) bracketry found on a 91-93 Cougar/T-bird with the 5.0 EFI engine. Close up pictures of the TB/TV cable are what I'm really after.

I'm performing a 5.0 EFI AOD swap on my 97 Ranger, and I'm using an SN95 Mustang intake. They were not equipped with the TV provisions, as the automatic SN95 Mustangs used an electronically controlled AOD-E.

Your intakes look like this correct?

Thank you for your help!

Kevin

Here is the best I can do. I took this before I pulled my entire setup. This is the stock picture because I want you to see it from the factory.

That is perfect. Thanks very much, that helps quite a bit.

If anyone else has any close pictures, I'd like to see them as well.

If you'd like to take some pics of the TB/TV cable bracketry, that would be great.

(If it's not too late already!)

Thanks for your help.

Thanks Matt! I'd appreciate any pics you take.

I've got a line on a TB/TV bracket, hopefully I can get it for the right price.

i know your using the stock upper and lower, but you may want to consider using a an explorer upper and lower, the throttle and cruise cables will be a more direct fit to your ranger.

Consider it considered.

I'll stick with what I've got thanks.

Im going to put the pics up later today.. the other night I had a little mishap while taking some photos, and now my camera dongle doesnt want to plug into the camera plug so Im going to be resorting to flash memory. I have a bunch of pics for work I have to get off that thing as well.. oh well. Ive got plenty of pics though, so it should be worth the delay.. didnt forget about ya.

Well, it doesn't look like that anymore.

Better late than never ;)

here they are.. I was in the process of installing a bunch of replacement parts at the time of the pics being taken.. I also was installing a new throttle body linkage bushing. it fits into the throttle arm, and the TV cable clicks into it.. those things are notorious for going at the WRONG time!! I was behind an LAPD police cruiser waiting at a red light when it happened.. needless to say it was very scary stuff.. I pulled the car over and I taped the TV cable to the throttle arm with masking tape, and YAY!! I had my overdrive back!! It would shift into OD before, but would slip when you hit the gas.. I thought the tranny was trashed, and I overlooked the TV cable. it would be good practice to change all the bushings in the throttle body arm for that motor you want to put into your Ranger..

I had a buddy who use to live down the street from me with a Ranger that had a 5.0 swap.. the donor was his mustang that got screwed in an accident, but the mustang had a fresh 345 hp GT40 crate motor.. jeeze, that little Ranger was like a bat outta hell that way that took off, as long as you had traction! effortless tire spinning. Im quite sure that even a stock 5.0 will be pretty fast though too in that little truck; probably a lot quicker than our Birds in that case.

Heres the culprit.. Too bad that Ford used a crappy design for this throttle body linkage setup!

Fantastic! Those are exactly what I was looking for! Thanks very much Matt!

I'll be sure to post pics once I've got the engine installed for the last time.
