JL1994CougarXR7 Thanks. Ive been looking for some tires for my 94 XR7. Awesome car you got there 02-01-2013
racecougar The street tires in all of the pictures here are:

Nitto NT555 245/45/17 front tires
Nitto NT450 275/50/17 rear tires

I'll be switching the front pair to 255/45R17 NT555's within the next month or so. The rear tires will remain the same (just new).
01-31-2013
JL1994CougarXR7 What size street tires do you have under that beast? 01-31-2013
racecougar Thanks, Ron! 01-07-2013
Trunk Monkey Great burnout shot from Gateway on Halloween Rod! You've got an awesome car there. 01-07-2013
racecougar Thanks Josh! 11-02-2012
OxmanWI Congrats on the new times, one of the coolest Cougs on the site! 11-02-2012
racecougar Chris,

The subframe connectors and the Delrin bushings address two different issues with these cars. The SFC's reduce body flex, whereas the bushings reduce the slop in the IRS. Both result in a better handling, more predictable car.

Platoribs Hey Rod, I'm performing a restoration lite on a 89 SC 5-speed, and hope to learn enough to fix the Front IRS mounts on this one and a 92 with everything refreshed EXCEPT the front IRS mount !

I'd like to get some feedback on your IRS to subrame rail and how effective it is. Do you attribute more satbilization to these rails or to the bushings and MK* LCA's? I reallly like how you did it but I'm a little concerned with the side to side deflections when fishtailing (one of my passions). Please LMK your thoughts.

Thanks,
Chris
04-14-2012
racecougar Thanks John! Good luck on your restoration project. Those 25th Anny's are getting pretty rare. 04-01-2012

racecougar Thanks. Anyone can learn to metalwork. It just takes practice. An air filter box like that is a good starter project. 05-08-2011
BlueEyes I really like the air filter box. Wish I could work with sheet metal and make my own. 05-08-2011
racecougar Thanks guys. More mods and more power to come. Winter season (mod season) is fast approaching. :-) 11-16-2010

ThunderChecken Nice cat man 10-23-2010
whitebird97 Awesome car, seriously, bad ass. 08-14-2010
racecougar Thanks guys. The car received a few more mods over the winter...I'll spill the beans as soon as I have factual data of the results in my hands. 05-14-2010
MontrealV8 Wtf dude.... Now thats a bad ass car 05-14-2010
95Greenbirdlx that is one badass cougar! 05-12-2010
Chubyone Nice ride i hope i can make mine as nice 03-23-2010
racecougar A tune will definitely be necessary. 01-29-2010
Sheldon Hey! I had asked ya about tuning on another site. I know you have DOHC's My 95 is SOHC But I want run PI heads with a stage II comp cam. You think tuning will be necessary? Or Just to really get everything out of my cam and heads? 01-29-2010
Sheldon Hey man! I seen ya on powerblock or cardomain or something. anyway love what you've done to the car! Keep it up! 01-18-2010
nickleman60 I saw this car for the first time at the '09 SC Shootout, it's definitely a nice car........and fast. 10-27-2009
yoseppy411 the engine bay looks amazing 08-18-2009
racecougar Thanks. My dad really deserves the credit for the hood. He fabbed that up while I was handling the new engine, transmission, and other miscellaneous things. 05-03-2009
Harkness I really like the hood... did you fab that up yourself? If not, would you tell me where it came from? 05-03-2009
racecougar It has plenty more "go potential". I just have other commitments that have kept me from messing with upping the boost, advancing the timing, etc. It's a treat just to get a chance to drive the car once in a while these days. 02-05-2009
solow I hope I m not outta a line here but with that grocery list of mods seems it has a bit more go left to find under the hood of that monster. Im not knockin it that car is sharp. . just sayin 02-05-2009
40th Chicken very nice car 12-08-2008
Mark8Thunder Very nice. Everythin under da hood looks great. Love the togle switches in the over head lights on the top of the roof. 11-19-2008
racecougar I'm running a 97 EEC-V which I tune using the SCT X-Cal 2 Pro Racer Package.

Thanks,
Rod
10-26-2008
solow WOW I think you have done everything I can think Of wait nitrous
looks great seems to run good what kind of computer a tweeker or ?
10-26-2008
HGainiac You're killin with that grocery list of mods, Rod!!!! Everytime I look at that Cat, ( at least once a damn day ) I get all tweaked out over my pos 93 collecting dust in my driveway, and I'm not even done with my 'bird yet!! lol!LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!!! Thanks again for all your help, Bro!! 06-04-2008
racecougar Alan (Dirtyd0g) built the 4R70W and the TC. I did/do the tuning. It's just a matter of dialing it all in. 03-30-2008
fly360 how did you get the tranny to shift that smooth? my 96 t-bird i had to let off the gas to get it to shift 03-30-2008
fly360 thanks 03-30-2008
racecougar Thanks for letting me know about the video links. They should be fixed now. 03-30-2008
fly360 nice car. trying to watch your videos, but mozilla says it is a bad link 03-30-2008
bob9646 i personally have a crush on the engine bay paint job. bee ee aye you tee full 12-31-2007
bob9646 bravo. perfect execution with a flawless landing. 12-31-2007
racecougar Thanks, Splattered. Both the blower and the car have a lot left in them. Those 12.9's at the SC/XR7 Shootout this year were just shakedown passes with the new engine/trans (only ran 5 psi and 12 degrees of timing). While I'm completely happy with the car as it sits, I'll probably turn the boost and timing up a bit over the winter. 11-25-2007
Splattered your Rear shock tower brace is good quality and really good value for the buck, i recommend it to anyone. Btw your car rocks, inside and out. Does that blower have anymore psi to give you lower ETs? 11-25-2007
David Neibert Rod,

The car looks and runs great...Congrats !

David
11-01-2007
OxmanWI The hood looks great Rod, can't wait to see her in person! 09-25-2007
racecougar Thanks. The engine is about as far from factory as you can get. It's based off of a 4.6L DOHC V8, which has been stroked to 5.0L. There is a huge thread on the engine in the Vids/Images section.

http://forums.tccoa.com/showthread.php?t=97219

The engine build info starts on page 5 of that thread.

MR95XR7 Very sweet ride give a 8 out of a 10. 07-21-2007
decipha very nice mn12 now cut back on the beer and watch your ET's drop!

j/j.. we still friends right?
07-09-2007
racecougar Most of the mods (up until this past winter) should be listed on my member page guys.

The exhaust consists of:

Kooks 1.75"/3" Ceramic coated headers
3" down tubes
3" Magnaflow polished catalytic converters
18" long DIDO Magnaflow polished muffler with Tru-X core
2.5" pipes through fuel tank
3" tailpipes
06-11-2007
scottb I like the exhaust. What did you use? 06-11-2007
racecougar Yes, NT 450's on the rear and NT 555's on the front. 05-26-2007
racecougar NT 450's on the rear, NT 555's on the front. 05-26-2007
94V8Thunderbird those nitto tires? NT 450? 05-26-2007
Mister_T Man this car is absolutely beautiful. I have the shot of the ass end set as my desktop. 05-23-2007
racecougar The wheels are 17x8 and 17x9 Bullitt replicas, made by Dante Designs, which I believe is no longer in existance. They are the stock 5x4.25" bolt pattern.

-Rod
05-16-2007
T-mac429 Hey where did you get those sweet rims, is your car 108 spaced 5 lugs like most or conversion? Crazy ride! 05-16-2007
racecougar That's the electronics box...where the auxilary fuse block, MSD RPM switch, MSD Tach driver, six relays, and the brake distribution block hide.

-Rod
05-15-2007
OxmanWI What's on the right side of the bay where the battery used to be? 05-15-2007
racecougar Yes, those are 97 gauges in my 90 XR7. Well, Taurus SHO gauges to be exact. That's also a 97 dash, door panels, console, etc. The car was entirely rewired due to the engine, transmission, and interior swaps. It isn't exactly a "plug n play" sort of thing.

-Rod
05-14-2007
Joseph Rice Hey Is that a 90' Cougar with 97' Gauges?
Do they work the same.
