Red Plastic Vacuum line

Ok, i've got a problem here, the red plastic vacuum line that goes with the green plastic vacuum line has broken. There's a 3 inch portion missing, and the red line is brittle. There's not a whole lot of the red line sticking out of the loom. I've still got the fitting that goes on the vacuum tree and some of the line off that. What's the best way to try and repair it?

Well, where does the red/green vacuum hoses plug into behind the motor? How hard exactly would it be to remove and replace them. If i went to a junkyard, would i run the risk of having the line break again? Would it better to try and replace the whole red hose, with a piece of rubber hose?

yeah, 95 SC I managed to fix it by slipping a piece of vacuum line over the red plastic hose. I might have to fix it correctly later though.
