Exhaust advice???

I'm looking into finally upgrading the exhaust on my 1990 SC. So far all I've done is removed the stock mufflers. But I want to completely replace all the pipes from just behind the manifolds and back. I found cat's with pipes, that eliminate that stupid 90 degree bend on the driver's side. I want to get an X-pipe and run a true dual exhaust and replace the gas tank with the newer style with the smaller bend. The part I really need input on is the mufflers, I've read a few guys going with the borla's, but I'm not sure what ones they are using/ cost? I was wondering if anyone has used Flow master Super 40 Delta's and what their opinion of them are. I def. don't want my car to sound like a ricer, but I'm looking to get some tone out of her. Any advice or help finding the best/ cheapest way to find all my parts would be awesome.

Do you want flow or sound?

Flow dictates signal exhaust (can Y in and Y out ) for as much and possible. Borla flows the best hands down, but if you like the Flowmaster sound you will not like Borla nor Magnaflow (the second best flowing and best bang for the buck).

I have a complete borla setup on my SC and is nice and quite for the most part for a 2.5-3-2.5 system can be. The engine drowns the exhaust out at anything over light throttle.

I figure though since you said dual exhaust and Dronemasters that the sound you want.

A set of Borla Turbos is about $160 each.

I like the fact that nothing on my exhaust will rust though.

If all else fails get a bigger hammer!

Both?

I kind of want the best of both so to speak, or as close as i can get. I want to open up the flow, but I also want to have a little tone out of the car. I'm kind of tired of a moped being louder than my car... ya know?

If stock is too quite then you will not be too happy with Borla, for its not much louder.

Noise does not make power... well unless that's a whistle form under the hood

If all else fails get a bigger hammer!

if you do an online search, there are alot of good flow test that have been done on mufflers includes:

broaderperformance.com/muffler_flow_tests.htm (Independently tested cfm flows of the more popular mufflers, glasspacks and resonators.

http://www.popularhotrodding.com/eng...../index1.html (this is an indepth artical that tests not only the mis-conception of flow demand but also how placement of a muffler (a glass pack in this dyno test) can actually "fool " the system into thinking that it is essentially a straight pipe.
