Thunderbird SC Registry

Hi everyone! I just created a database to register thunderbird Super Coupes. I would like to have a huge database to track as many SC's as possible. To have a true database, I believe a vin number should be required as this will prevent people from placing cars in the registry that don't exist. Hopefully, this will keep the database as accurate as possible. Let me have feedback on what you like, dislike, additions etc. I want this site to be a living and breathing resistry with as much participation as possible. Thanks!

Mark

That is a wonderful idea. You should also include 89-90 cougar XR7 vehicles as well. I know I have more ideas...give me a minute I am really tired and can't think right now.

Will do earl, was thinking about acougar registry also. I want to get the design bugs out of this one first. I'm not a professional programmer so it takes me a while to write and test the code. once I get everything done, I can just use the program for any car registry.

Some SCs came with cloth and vynil interiors, you might want to add that to the interior selection, I'm sure there, try and find the actual names for the paint colors

Those were the standard interiors, 89-90 was 100% cloth, 91-93 was the tweed/vinyl and 94/5 was 50/50 vinyl/cloth

I wrote down a few SC vins on a list last time I found a few at a junkyard, I'll sift through my toolbox and register them.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will change the the colors to the actual color names given by Ford. As far as the interior, would you guys like the registry to be more specific on interior trims? What about other options? I know I don't have them all listed but try to cover the major options. What about photo's.

"Cloth or leather" covers the interior pretty well. Stereo options(base/premium/JBL), CD changer, Car phone, keyless entry, factory alarm ect. would be neat to add

Pics would be cool

That registry is great and with 35K plus cars registered it very popular. However, the registry I have created is for the MN12 Thunderbird SC and soon the MN12 XR7. At this moment in time, I have no interest in any thunderbird except for the mn12 thunderbird. No offense to the earlier thunderbirds, all thunderbirds are great cars but my focus and curiosity lies with the Owners of the mn12 platform of cars.
In the future, if you really want to promote the other site, start your own thread.

I was more trying to ask if you were thinking of reaching out to them and incorporating their existing VIN data into your database regarding SC cars.

Sorry for the harsh words, I mis-took your post. I thought you were suggesting something else. Major problem with non-face to face communication. I'll have to give that some thought. I will contact them and see if its even possible. I'm not sure what type of data they track. My goal is to have a complete database where someone could go and research how many other cars were out there that was similar to thiers based on factory color and options. I was also wanting to track where the cars were located in case those owners ever wanted to meet or share resources. However, the concern for privacy and how to protect it is a balancing act as to how much information an owner wants to put into a database. This is why I desperately need input as to what information the majority of owners would like to track and share with other owners.
