Question Underdrive Pullies what to expect?

Just ordered some underdrive pullies for my 90 XR7. I've heard they are susposed to wake-up these cars pretty well (help it hit the powerband faster.) I only bought the Alt. and water pump. I passed on the Crank since the OEM cranh is a ballanced assembley and I just bought a new one about 5 months ago.

I was wondering what I should expect from these two pullies. Hell for under a hundred bucks its the cheapest thing I've ever done to this car.

Maybe it is just my car but when i installed the watert pump pulley that came with the u/d kit with the stock crank pulley, the two would touch. The u/d water pump pulley is a lot bigger that the stock water pump pulley. Also from what i have been told the only pulley you really need to change is the crank pulley.
