Losing Supercharger Oil

I got my 1990 5-speed SC running pretty well after new belts, changing the oil and a new radiator (it was running hot).

I've been adding supercharger oil on a regular basis. I've used about 1 & 1/4 of those Ford supercharger oil bottles in the past month - maybe I've driven 1,000 miles since I bought it about a month ago.

Do these superchargers "use" oil? I haven't detected a leak. But it they do leak, where do they leak - in the snout, or are there other places I should be looking?

They don't use oil unless they are leaking. The snout is the main place. Check out the SCCoA forms and also TBird SC Enthusiasts Community which is a Tech only SC form board for a more detailed ideal of what might be wrong.

My e-mail is [email protected]. Drop a line and let me know.

While it's apart, shouldn't I put in a new snout bearing?
