Is it turning over? Check to see if you are getting spark to any of your plugs. Easiest ones to get to is on the drivers side. Try That if you haven't already.

If you have spark, then I would check for codes. If I would, guess it is your crank sensor. I had to replace mine last year. It would turn over but not start until the car turned blue and the above... pulled the codes ,and it turned out to be the crank sensor. I think it was around 70 to 80 bucks from the dealership.

Good luck! I hope this helps....

Did the new battery get tested before you put it in? You need 650 cold cranking amps to start an SC. If the crank sensor is bad, a yellow up-shift light will stay on, @ the bottom of the tach, while cranking. Good luck

in our old 89 sc, it did this two times. Once was a bad battery terminal, so I soldered a new one on. The second was a bad wire going to the DIS, and the car woudn't even crank.

actually starter isnt doing anything. it started before i removed the shifter killed the battery because am airing out the interior. the fuel pump is kicking in and battery i tested at work and has full charge. is there a switch on the shifter or maybe the clutch sensor that isnt reading a letting power go to the starter. am going to the dealer in the morning to get the bushings and shims that were missing on the shifter which i hope was causing it not go into gear, will ask one of the techs there hopefully they will help.

Did you try to push the brake and then start? Mine has that option.

Is this an AOD or a 5speed, I see you have both? If its an AOD, maybe when you repaired the shifter, you may have unplugged the Neutral Start Switch on the trans. If so, it will not try to start or do do anything. I would double check all of the harnesses on the trans and shifter. Good luck
