v6 question

have a n/a 3.8 & sitting at stoplights with arm out window theres alot of heat cumming out from under car... what is that? & at idle or like jus slowly crusing like 25 or 30mph through town there's nice lil cam sound... most have told me it sounds like a stock v8 when idleing & around 25 in town, but when i get on it its queit or sounds like a v6... car is bone stock... what is this? sound is like it has a cam in it with slight lope...

That is from the exhaust being hot and heat rises.

i've noticed that on mine too. it doesn't happen in any other car i've been in. i just ignore it. i thought it was cuz i had no cats and it got hotter

Actually the opposite is true. Not having cats will have the exhaust system be cooler. As far as the heat goes, mine does the same thing.

well i never noticed it before i got my work done. it doesnt matter to me anyway.

i notice it...i also notice when i come to a stop sign....without cats...the smell of exhaust...
