New Exhaust

Well I got my new exhaust installed today and I am quite impressed. I had two High Flow cats installed and deleted the third cat and resonator. Also had two Flowmaster 40's installed. I was surprised how much better the car seems to run and even feels like I gained a few horses. Very nice sound too! With the old exhaust the car seemed to idle funny and even stutter. Now it runs great.

Congrats.

well I don't really have a way to post a video, my camera was stolen a while back and it really hasn't been a priority to replace. But the car does sound great. Thankfully the next few things are just tune up related so they won't cost nearly as much.

mine was 850 it seemed pricey but I am more than satisified with the results. They were just standard high flows. The guy at the shop had a 5.0 Cougar and 5.0 Mustang and he was extremely knowledgeable. He said unless I am doing any major engine work such as heads or intake that using any larger than the stock size pipe won't give much improvement and infact hurt the low end. He did however agree that removing the third cat and resonator would allow for better breathing. He even knew about the bottleneck at the header that dropped the exhaust down into the cat instead of flowing straight through. He said if I get any engine mods done that he would give me a deal on larger pipes and headers. Coolest thing is he does smog at his shop so he tested it to prove how much cleaner it runs with only two high flows as compared to three OEM's. Needless to say the results were surprising. Then again the three OEM's were probably garbage anyway. Had I done the exhaust from the headers back it would have only been an extra 180, but I am strapped for cash and that 180 could go towards some other minor fixes on the car.
