why wont mustang headers work?

this is probley a dumb question but why wont 96-98 mustang headers work on are cars? or will thay? is it becouse kooks have the best flow? or is it becouse of fitiment isues with using stang headers? theres somthing that gets me about spending 750 on headers when i see stang headers for 200 to 500.
