Question What side O/D primaries on headers

Hey, I was wondering what size piping i should use for headers?I am ordering a header kit and exhaust flanges from jegs, comes with a collector as well.Would a 1 1/2" be better or the 1 5/8'' , which is too big or small?

1-5/8" minimum-the OEM manifolds are larger than 1-1/2".

Hmm, how does this kit you're getting work? I'm guessing they just send you some pipes and you mix and match bends yourself? Can it do longtubes? How much does it cost?

yes this is what he is doing building a custom header. Why could you not build long tubed headers you would just need more pipe. Many companies sell the 2v flanges for 25$ a pair

I was just wondering if the kit would include enough pipe for it.

If you can make some longtubes, you might be able to sell a few sets on here and make some extra money. As for the pipe diameter, definitely 1-5/8".
