smoke from 3rd cat

I noticed that after I shut my car off that smoke was rising from under it. I checked it out and it was coming from where the pipes meet the cat. Any ideas? Car has 146k on it. Keep that in mind. Thanks!

I love my V8, but I'd love it more if all 8 cylinders worked. (they do now)

Could possibly be burning a little bit of oil.
And just re-weld it, or seal it up.

Or there is that.
I agree. That's how my T-bird is.

Would it be happening if I was running rich?

This smoke is rising from the outside of the cat? If so, sounds like fluid is leaking from around the tailshaft and dripping onto the exhaust.

I just took a look and it seems like there is a fluid on the cat and a little behind it. I'm still learning about cars so I'm not really sure what this means.

You probably have a leaking tailshaft seal where the driveshaft slides in. Easy to replace the seal, probably not so much to remove the driveshaft for a first-timer. But you'll have to get under there and check, because the fluid could be coming from further up front and dripping back there.
