I was going to get one of those. With discount, I could get the price down pretty low at Advanced. Instead I wound up with a Magnaflow (pretty popular here I'm guessing because of price) that I got used.

Will - do you have a video clip? Been thinking of the Super 40 or Super 44 to replace the Flowmaster 50 Series I have on my Mark now.

I'm running stock front cats (soon to be high flow) with a Jones Full Boar DIDO muffler then 2.25's all the way out. I like the sound and the muffler only cost me $47 bucks, now I think the Magnaflow DIDO sounds better but it's over $100 bucks for the one that sounds really good on the birds from what I've read.

I will be putting a sound bite of my car up tomorrow I think hope the opinion helps.

Has anyone tried CherryBomb's Extreme DIDO - I like the sound of Don's car with the Magnaflow Resonator in it but it's not a muffler - it's a resonator. I have been on youtube and I like the sound of both the mag resonator and the Cherrybomb extreme.... so any input would be helpful thanks.

Yep looks like I will be going with just the resonator since both my wife and I want it to be very aggressive. If it's too loud I can add some muff's later. Thanks.

Hey, that sounds great! Do you have 2 mufflers in the back or a single mid mount dual in/dual out?

http://www.popularhotrodding.com/eng...../index1.html (this is an in-depth article that tests not only the mis-conception of flow demand but also how placement of a muffler (a glass pack in this dyno test) can actually "fool " the system into thinking that it is essentially a straight pipe.

I have listed here a muffler shootout test done by CAR CRAFT:

The Mufflers

DYNO TEST
All mufflers were dyno-tested on a 355-cube SBC with 10.0:1 compression, Air Flow Research 190 aluminum heads, a CompCams 292 hyd. a Victor Jr. intake, a Holley 750-cfm double-pumper, and 1 5/8 Headman headers.

MUFFLER HP TORQUE 2,500-6,000rpmAverage
Hooker Competition 397.4 381.1 286.8hp/351.9 lb-ft
Thrush Boss Turbo 407.1 384.9 292.1 hp/357.5 lb-ft
DynoMax Race Magnum 409.5 394.3 298.8 hp/366.9 lb-ft

Summit Fully Welded 415.4 390.7 295.6 hp/362.4 lb-ft

While there are mufflers that will out flow a glass pack design, it also depends on the design. Does the glasspack use "louvers or perforations" - Louvers reduce the flow by as much as 50% I have run Allied resonators (that sell for $20-$40) each and available at any muffler shop) for 30+ years on just about everything, very nice deep tone, no drone, nice low rumble on accel & decel and last...i tyipically keep my vehicles for 15+ years, never had to replace one yet..

I cannot get the sweet sound of a DOHC 4.6 flowing through Ultra Flows.

Before Magnaflow came out, Walker released a muffler called a Ultra-flow. The Ultra Flow was just a straight through design with aluminized casing and fiber filling.

Now, Walker offers it in Stainless.

I tried the Magnaflows, and even though they claim 100% stainless I have found that the inner tubes rust.

I am a tried a true Dynomax fan. Ultra Flows sound good and they are built with Walker quality.

That's why I recommended Allied resonators.

I think this is the right spot to put this so here goes....

I just bought a Magnaflow part #11385

I was under the assumption that this was a resonator 2.25 in and 2.25 out (DIDO)

Don Phau has one on his car (a resonator that is) and his car sounds beastly - now I know that he has a DOHC and over 400hp at the FW, but my car sounds, well nowhere near as loud or raspy as his.

This is the link that Don sent me,http://www.supercoupeperformance.com...spx?partId=155
but I paid through paypal and found it $2 cheaper ( I thought) I'm basically wanting to know did I buy a resonator or a muffler, the salesperson at Summit said it was a Resonator, but the box it came in says universal muffler. Does my car sound this quiet because of the lack of HP and extra valves? Or did I buy a muffler?

I have stock exhaust manifolds, hollowed out cats, and 2.25 duals all the way out, I will post a vid tomorrow so that you guys can hear what I do. Now don't get me wrong I think the car sounds good, but not what I thought I was buying (as far as sound)

Thanks for the help in advance.

I called supercoupe performance today, they don't give out part numbers, but with some charming I got the answer I was looking for. The part #'s 11385 and 6 are "resonated x- pipe Mufflers" So I know I got the right part, It must be the difference in the valves,HP,and the fact that he is running a blower and I'm not (yet) - Just wanted to update - I will still post a vid of it - Pls tell me what you guys think.

Thanks.

Merry Christmas

Has anyone tried Cherry Bomb Vortex mufflers? Just wondering how they would sound on a bird.

FYI- You can spend any amount of $ that you want, but that doesn't make it a better system (sound or performance) compared to any other lower priced unit.

We know that lol - most exhaust systems are just personal preferance. They don't make (that I know of) a fully dyno tuned setup for our cars, like heathrob does for the srt8's, camaroes, and mustangs 2009-2011. If there was one like that for our cars, we would probably all or mostly go with that one lol.

As far as the vortex, I've heard they flow pretty good and from the vids i've seen of them, they sound pretty beastly too. Depends a lot on what your compression ratio, HP, are you under boost or N/A etc etc.
