New Exhaust

Been away for a while due to the holidays, but now it's time to get back to working on the bird..I keep getting the catylst codes so Im gonna go ahead and replace the exhaust. My bird has the 4.6 in it, so what are some good suggestions for a daily driver that likes to go fast..lol I want a good sound but not obnoxiously loud.. Any tips would be great..

It's all a matter of opinion.

My car is a daily driver, and pretty much stock atm. I put the Magnaflow DIDO 2.25 inch mid mounted with no mufflers. She sounds aggressive, but not overly loud at all.

NOTE: If you plan on putting some serious HP in that car as I do, then that muffler will get loud quick Reference Don Pfau's Mark VIII

Mandrel Exhaust Systems 2.5" duals here. Dynomax super turbo mufflers; a little louder than a stock 4.6 2v GT.

Currently I have no mufflers on a stock pipe system. I am looking for advice on the cats really. Should I go high flow or just standard?

You can make HP and keep the sound toned down. Just look at Darren's sleeper. It's quieter than mine.

Don's the exception, he went the really loud route. lol

So, Don's running the same Magnaflow DIDO 2.25 inch mid mounted with no mufflers? If so yea, that's friggin' LOUD!

It all depends on how you configure the exhaust, which mufflers you choose and what sound you're looking for ... Like sousa632 said, It's all a matter of opinion.

Good sound but not obnoxiously loud is very subjective.

Mods? Yea, I got mods ...

Thanx for the tips..High flow it is then. Now with high flows is there any issues I should look for as far as the o2 sensors? Will the HF give them false readings or anything?

You are absolutely right Ron, I was just stating that if you ran the muffler I have with nothing else and started building HP then i would get loud in a hurry. "D

Ron hit it on the mark Me and Robert have disused my super turbos are quiet but the flow #s for them are good, Alone with the hi flow cats & X pipe . Have been thinking of getting some Thrush Turbos , But I believe that the flow #s on them are not as good Will see how the supers do after the latest project .

+1 on the Super Turbos... They were actually a little louder than I was expecting and there's a bit of drone around 1800-2100 RPM... but I think it's a good volume for me for a daily driver.
