my question is are the cats on each of the headers feeding back into the muffler?
have a buddy that tells me im crazy in thinking there is 2 cats and not just 1 and that they must be further on.

a better question might be do you guys know of a good right up on removing them yourself and think you could use a pipe cutter of sorts?

1992 V8? There's THREE cats.

One right, one left, and one rear (where the two pipes run into a "Y" fitting).

Behind that is the resonator.

Unless you don't have but one unit there, then there's a right and a left.

Thunderbird 5.0 Exhaust

Here's the Exhaust set-up on your 92 Thunderbird 5.0..

As far as removing your Catalytic Converters..

The Passenger Side Catalytic Converter you could cut out and straight pipe...

The Driver Side Catalytic Converter is at a 90 Degree angle..So there's no straight piping that..

You're going to have trouble deleting the Front Catalytic Converters..

Unless you get some 120 Degree Down Pipes, and you are a competent welder..

As to replacing them - with OEM design, or with X pipe/DIDO muffler and true duals out the back?
