Talking Exhaust leak (behind resonator)

As stated, I have a nasty exhaust leak directly behind the resonator on my 95 Cougar; it rattles and stinks something awful. From an illustration I saw on the web, it appears that the resonator may be a separate bolt on item? If so, it seems that I need only replace the resonator (clamps at rear are solid rust), add a new clamp, and I'm finished?

Seems it should. But.....funny thing about exhaust systems.

What starts out as "I just need to replace this _____ and it'll be done" usually turns into "I had to do the whole @#$% exhaust system just to replace one part! ARGGH!!"
You might get lucky, but be prepared for more than you initially anticipated.

You might just want to eliminate that stupid resonator and put a piece of pipe in.

If you know someone that can weld the piece in, it's the best way, otherwise just clamp it on!

That's what I would do, anyways.....

Thanks fellas. When time (and cash), allow, I'll try to get it done properly.
