Walker #50516 "Y" Pipe - need best price

I need to change my "Y" pipe with CATS on my 96 TB with 4.6. I am getting a P0430 code. The TB has 110,000 miles. I see a Walker #50516 on eBay for $370. Does anyone have a better price for this "Y" pipe?

Thanks,

Glenn

Go get it done at an exhaust shop. You can get new generic cats for ~75 dollars, and less than 100 dollars to install. Ditch the catted Y for regular tubing, IDK your state's emission laws, these cars will pass with one cat on each bank. Right there is looking at 250, if not less. Use the extra money to get new oxygen sensors.

You do realize that a P0430 code doesn't mean you need to change your converter, right? Tell me you did some diagnostics first.

Do you also realize that the third cat has no sensor, so that's not the one with a problem...? Bank 2 would be the drivers' side front cat.

But, an exhaust leak or bad O2 sensor could also be a possible cause for a P0430... however a failed cat is the most likely cause

It could be a bad rear 02 sensor. I will replace the DS sensor with a good used one I have to see if it makes any difference.

to answer your question regarding the the walker 50516, i used to work for advance auto and prior to going custom duals I tried this product. it fit just like stock, other than having to drill out the bolt holes attaching to the manifolds a little. quality was decent however i did coat it with some high temp spray paint to help against rust.

thing is even with my discount it was still expensive as all get out and took awhile to ship. after having it for maybe 6 months i found this site and went duals with a local exhaust shop. 300 with high flow cats and it passed the sniffer test and obd port test with flying colors.

then memphis ditched the emissions tests and well...you can guess the rest

with only 110k i wouldn't think the cats are shot already unless your cars burning more oil then gas.... O2s are cheaper and your best bet.

also for the price of that walker you could almost get yourself a non stainless mandrel system for a few more benji's and enjoy it a heck of a lot more. Ive been meaning to get myself a set of stainless, perhaps with my tax return.

and even non-stainless it will last a lot longer then any walker product, those things are coated in grease like oil to keep them from rusting on the shelf, but once their hot and run down the road a few miles they start rusting quite badly. you'll get about 3 years at the most from it in a salty environment.

i put a muffler pipe on my old 89 from walker, and while its still on the car being driven by my cousin, i still kind of wonder how bad its getting under their... should probably take a look some time when i see him XD the muffler sounded terrible from day one too...

RUST!! eating away at me more than the rear fender wells

Thanks for all the advice. First I will check the rear o2 sensors.
