Exhaust clamp size question

If i were to replace my mufflers with an aftermarket set that are 2" inlet diameter, and wanted to connect them with a muffler clamp, would i buy a 2 inch I.D. muffler clamp or one slightly larger? Sorry if this is a dumb question. Thanks.

Why do you want to reduce the size? Anyway, it seems you are asking how you can go from 2.25 down to 2.0". You will need a reducer and a clamp. This video should answer your questions. Let us know how it sounds when you're done.

I was under the impression that the pipe diameter to the muffler was 2 inches. Am I incorrect?

You are correct, it is 2" pipe at the mufflers on the stock exhaust system, not 2-1/4. To answer your question, yes you would use a 2" muffler clamp, however once you cut the mufflers off, there really isn't a straight area there to clamp to, so you will need to either cut forward if that bend and add another bend going to the aftermarket muffler, or the better option would be to weld them on instead of clamping them.
