O2 Sensors

Quick question - getting ready to replace bank 1 sensor 2. Rock Auto catalog says, manufacturers recommend replacing in pairs, i.e. both downstream at the same time, or both upstream, depending on which one is bad. Agree, or disagree?

Do you realize you were just passed by a NASCAR? I didn't think so.

As long as the fronts are working, I usually swap the fronts to the rear, and buy new fronts.

If all 4 are original, I'd replace all 4.
Original ones will be keyed for location; aftermarket rarely have the keys, so will fit anywhere.

NTK's are the OEM; get the short ones; the long ones are hard to thread in.

Because I need to do this soon, I was not able to do the deal through Summit Racing to buy my sensors. I wound up ordering a couple of generic ones from Auto Parts Warehouse. At this time I'm able to only replace the two rear, even though just bank one is throwing a code.

I don't know how it is on other birds, but my California car uses the same sensor in all four locations.

I would only buy parts from a Ford dealer.

We replaced a sensor on my stepson's Highlander with a Denso from Advance, thinking it would be okay since the original was a Denso, and the CEL came back on immediately.

Advance, Auto Zone, all those places are trash. You go to buy a sensor, and you have 5 to pick from. There should just be one, the right one! /rant off!
