No X Pipe?

I got new Magnaflow XL's installed today! YAY!

But they said they could not do an X pipe as it is not possible to do on the bird, what gives? He then said the car would run better without it... am I missing something?

It WAS stock until today. Now just Magnaflows. So basically, 2 to 1 back to 2 and the end.

It sounds awesome, not as loud as I thought it would be, but good none the less.

well if it goes to 1 in the middle of the car, then he's right, you can't use a x-pipe with that setup.

but if your asking for an x pipe they should know what it takes to get it done you would think did you ask for true duals

Too bad you're not further south, the shop I had my exhaust done was freakin' awesome.

anyway.... find another exhaust shop. Talk to some local car clubs (even if they /are/ mustang drivers, lol) or ask some people in your area what shops they recommend. Go to the local drags, ask where people got their exhaust done, etc.

How much difference will an X-pipe make on performance and sound?

The sound diference is awesome. Some liken it to the NASCAR sound but a little lower if your using mufflers.

Not to mention the fact that the Dual In/Out Magnaflow Tru-X Muffler actually acts as an x- pipe to. Not a bad deal, only buy one muffler, don't have to buy the x-pipe, and get true duals!

80 bucks did not include my magnaflow muffler... I bought that from somewhere else for like 100 bucks... then had them install it. My FIRST setup with the true duals had a Ractive X-Pipe installed... with no mufflers what-so-ever... droned like hell. So i went back with the muffler and had it put in where the x-pipe was (3rd cat location).

Sold my Cougar . But I am in the market for another MN12 project!
