Question Which headers?

Most of the headers I see listings for state they are for 'MUSTANG' 5.0L.

Are these Mustang headers going to fit a 1992 Cougar 5.0L? Is there a difference? I know I've gone the route before with Mustang 5.0L pulley's from MAC and they didn't fit right. So I assume there are some differences in the engines?

According to these posts, headers exist from JBA (they no longer make them though), Hedman (their website only lists 82-88 5.0L Mustang), BBK (only says mustang, too), and Mac ( most dyno tests say the Mac are the least performing)... oh and the SCP ones (which i like the price of, but have no idea of their performance levels).

I also see that some people have had to 'muscle' these headers to make them fit, which leads me to believe they are more for a Mustang not a Thunderbird/Cougar just based on fit.

Grrrr. Help. Please. Thanks.

MAC is the last company to actually make headers for the Tbird....... over time they are not the best part anyway.......Hop over the the 5.0 section and surf in there for what everyone has been doing, or had to do to get mustang headers to work. If you want to pick up a set of Tbird MACs, pm me, we have dealer pricing at the shop I am now working at........

IIRC, 392bird used mustang headers and modded his steering shaft.
