Full custom 2 1/2

Im getting ready to do a full custom 2 1/2 inch exshaust set up. Ill start with jba cat4ward headers then into a full true dual 2 1/2 to the rear finish with a rear mounted flowmaster 40series deltas . IM just wondering if anyone has done this or has attempted and any problems or issues i need to be aware of.

My gripe is that I have drone. It gets old after a while on the road but otherwise it sounds great..

hey that's what I have on mine!! I loved the way it sounded! The bad thing is that you can see the mufflers pretty good! My brother's kinda got the same thing without the headers and it has a nice growl to it. He left the cat's on it and took out the resonator!

Ditch the JBA's and Flow Masters. Stock manifolds will flow as well as the JBGays and won't crack. If you need more performance, Kooks are the way to go. Flows drone in the T-Bird applications. I went with a midmount Magnaflow setup, it drones a little @ low RPM, but not nearly as bad as the Flows I've heard.

Not on a 5.0 and kooks aren't made for them.

Bah..... I need to pay better attention.

Regardless of th manifold/header I would go with a midmount muffler setup vs. rear mount.

You may want to look at this also. I got my JBA's earlier than I intended due to a post by Lonnie. There are also post for getting through long tube installs aswell. I am not going for 500 hp so the JBA'S will work for me but they are small and expensive!

ill print that pick out and show them and as for the jbas i got mine aswell, well ive ordered them.. if these rumors are true then maybe ill have an oportunity to get long tubes but i think i can get 500hp through a full 2 1/2 in exshaust system it will only be 2 1/4 from headers to cats due to the jbas then 2 1/2 back

magnaflow imho are the best performer out there for not having the dreaded drone at 1900-2200 rpm range. and they really arent that loud until you mash the go pedal and go wot.

I noticed TroyN's Bird is a '91. Isn't there an issue with early fuel tanks having a different design that made doing duals tough, or was that from pre-91? I can't remember when the change happened. Sucks getting old...

I think it was up until 91. The Dynomax and Flowmaster cat-backs list 92-97. Not 89-91.

So swap the gastank and heat shield with a 92-97.
